I have a 67 I am working on and I thought the doors were in a bit better shape until I got them back from the blasters... I have about 6-7 visible holes in the 'textured' portion of the door near the front lower hinge. It is in the rounded part and I have now seen a few pics of doors for sale, and this seems to be a common rust spot. Other than that, the doors are rust free.

Anyway, how would you fix this? Since the metal is textured, you just cant weld a patch in there, but I suppose a patch is better than rust.

Looking for ideas.

Thanks

If the outside skin is in good shape, then I'd definitely patch it. Be sure to cut out all the bad metal and paint the inside. After patching, I understand you can come close to the textured look by rolling a milk carton on the wet paint. Won't be perfect but I believe the spot you're referring to isn't really seen.
