ok guys,i'm about to start on my longblock and i need some ideas/opinions.
i have a pi swapped 98 gt.i'm wanting to build a long block that will be more reliable and beefed up more than my 107,000 motor i have now.i don't wanna break my bank, but i also don't wanna cheap out,so what i'm looking for is somthing that won't kill my pocket, but is very good.
i haven't shopped around yet, because i work offshore and have very little time at home.thats why i was hoping to get some help from you guys on the parts and the links to where i can get them.
as for up top,i was thinking of some patriot performance stage 2 heads and vt stage 2 cams, but i'm not sure.how well will my stock pi heads work with vt stage 2 cams?
thanks guys!!
charles

I wouldn't touch patriot performance, they have been in trouble with cheap parts before.

If you don't want to break the bank don't buy a longblock, just get a forged internal kit.

VT II Cams will work good with the heads but you have to switch out the springs.

thanks for the reply tom.
who makes a good forged internal kit that wouldn't burn my wallet but is still very good?also i still have the stock exhaust manifolds on.will this hurt me very much with the vt stage 2 cams and springs?i wanted to wait until we yank the engine to put my longtubes on.thanks again tom.you were a big help last time with the whole spark plug issue :nice:
