flex plate bolts seem to long is this why?

ok well i saved the old flex plate bolts from the old motor and now that i try and put the them threw the new flex plate on to this new motor they seem to long. the old motor was a manual trans and im thinking the plate was thicker. would i be right?

Yes, the bolts are different for a flywheel vs a flexplate.

Flywheel bolts will be longer.

There were at least three different length flywheel/flexplate bolts on the small block, no matter the length, they'll all work on a flexplate. If you've got a 50 oz crank, use thread sealer on the bolts
