Ive heard some stories that a chambered muffler like a flowmaster can rob a lot of power on a blown car vs. a straight through muffler.

Anyone know if this is true?

I saw one guy that went from 340 to 360 rwhp just from switching from flomasters to some straight through muffler.

If by power adder car you're reffering to "Turbocharger", then yes the strait through design will provide a significant advantage. But for a blower or nitrous car, the difference is really minimal.

I think it was a turbo car that did the dyno and gained 20 hp.

Then yes, it's totally believable. Anytime you can reduce backpressure on a turbo car, you’re going to improve performance. I know guys that run no mufflers at all on their rear mounted Turbo cars and you wouldn’t know it to hear it running. They’re really quiet!

Good pijt with the turbo application, a lot of people run a remote cut-out for the track and when they're felling frisky - it's helps a good deal depending on your A/F size
