FMS springs vs the rest

i have never had or experienced FMS springs, but i have had 2 stangs with Eibach Sportlines on them and i love the ride, the handling and the look

FMS are not made by eibach.

I have had the Eibach pro kit (About 1.5 drop) with bbk cc plates on my car for a week now. I love the kit. Excellent ride quality, has a great stance, and handels like a new car. I had BBK springs on my last 5.0, and that was a nice kit also, but the I still like the Pro kit better.

IIRC the F and G FMS springs are made by Eibach. Fs are for coupes, Gs are for convertibles, they drop a Mustang 1.2" in the front and 1" in the rear. Spring rates are 460-570 variable front, and 170-310 variable rear.

The B and C FMS springs, however, are not made by Eibach. They drop less than the F/G springs, but the C springs are stiffer (650 linear front, 200-300 variable rear).

I went with the Steeda's and am very happy with them. They ride smooth yet stiff, feels way more responsive than the stock setup.

I did not need to adjust any camber since the drop wasn't severe. I am running 245/45-18's though and they may fill out the wheel well more.

I think the car sits like it should have from the factory. The rated drop was 1.25" and I scrape my rear LCA's as it is, I couldn't imagine dropping any lower and driving around town.

The Ford C Springs are comprable to Steeda Sports in comfort, handling and drop height, plus they're cheaper. However, my friend has the C Springs and I think my car handles and rides better.

are C&C plates needed when using the sportlines? i dont have that much money right now so im trying to stay with a drop that doesnt need the plates.
I believe the sportlines are a pretty severe drop (like 2 inches). So I can't imagine getting away without CC plates to get you back to the proper alignment. But maybe someone else if running em without CC plates.

It allll depends on what you want.
I noticed you said you have a vert, so you can rule out eibach sportlines altogether, unless you don't care that they aren't made specifically for your car.

I had the same problem when I was buying springs.
I had a '92 5.0 and dropped sportlines in the car... LOVED them, hugged well, and I only really bottomed out on bad driveways.

Now with my '94 5.0 vert, i wanted the same aggressive drop, but i spoke to about 30 different vendors (no exaggeration) who all told me they have the prokits for verts, and the standard prokits or sportlines for the coupes.

So i went with the h&r super sports... i love them to death

the C springs will give you the same drop and performance as the prokits.
Depending on who you want to deal with when it comes to sales, it's a personal thing.
I would do prokits, I know people who have C springs and love them.

What do you want with a lowering job? you want reaaal low for a sex appeal style? or just lowered, so it improves your car, but you don't get worried over speed bumps?

My car is low...
real low.
and I wouldn't have it any other way :nice:

One final point.

I had a guy ask me today if my car was on 19" rims.
Granted the guy didn't know a lot about "mustangs" - he did know his cars.
Now there's no way in hell these look like 19's

BUT

just remember, it all depends on what you want for your car...
so if you want your rims to look huge, but in actuality they aren't.

the lower you go, the bigger your rims will look.

caldwell, thank you for the picture. Thats just about the amount of drop i want. You got the h&r springs for the verts right? Did you have to use C&C plates too? I have 18" wheels though so that drop might be too much? My goal is about as much of a gap as you have, but with my 18" Bullit wheels with 245 40 18 tires.

I had the Eibach Sportlines on my previous 94 GT. Besides the occasional scraping on a speedbump, I really liked the springs. They ride quality was great, and the stance it gave the car was awesome.

You will need the caster/camber plates to obtain the correct adjustment. While your replacing the springs, you may as well replace the shocks/struts while your at it. I used the Tokico blues and was very happy.

i suggest you to get the c&c plates yes...
although you dont need it, it's still a good idea.

and with an 18 inch wheel you should be okay with the drop
however, you will need to get a like a 275/35/18 tire rather than a 275/40/ which i have
just compensate with your tire size man.
jr dropped his with 18s on it, he would be the man to ask

good luck :nice:
