Fog light + headlight question...

So 1 of my stock fogs finally went, and the other is about to. I want to replace both foglight bulbs, but also upgrade my headlights. I have heard good things about the Sylvania Silverstar bulbs, but is there a foglight bulb that matches in light color to match (that doesn't blow after 2 months)?

Thanks in advance!

I'm currently using the Silverstar bulbs in my headlights and they light up the road great at night. For my fog lights I'm just using standard replacement bulbs and the color difference at night is neglible. I'll take some pics tonight and post them back so you can take a look.

Thanks, I'd appreciate it.

Here are 2 of the better pics I took, I have more if you want to see them all. The Silverstars are brighter than the fog lights, but not enough to the point where all 4 lights look differently. Hope this helps.

what is the point of upgrading to the silver stars if they aren't that much better looking? Also, is there anywhere that sells replacement lens covers for the fog lights? That could also be the problem, that the lens covers themselves are old and dirty.

I didn't put the Silverstars in for looks, but mostly to help me see better at night. I had them before I added the fog lights. As for the lens covers, I'm sure you could hunt around for those on eBay or Stang specialty sites.

do they help alot at night? I drive some dark windy roads from time to time, so if they do help alot, they will definitely be worth it.

They're no bright as hell HID headlights, but you'll notice that it is brighter as you drive. Also, I've had people ask me when I was following them home or what have you, if I had my high beams on them. So from a driver perspective they are brighter than stock bulbs, and definitely from the outside they are bright as hell.

I think Sylvania pulled the Silverstar foglights that they had since they only worked for 100 hours, But I found the 893 silver stars on this website. Also, when I put in 2001 mustang, it comes up with 893ST for foglights, and also 880ST, which it says replaces the 893ST. Are the 880ST's the new bulb that lasts longer like a bulb should?

So are the 893's the ones that are only rated for 100 hours, and the 880's their legitimate replacement?

True HID bulbs are the ultimate solution for both headlights and foglights. Expensive, yes. Worth the expense, yes, especially for headlights. Consider buying some clear-lens foglights too, they improve lighting output noticably.

details on your HID Bulbs? Is it a full HID conversion kit, or just bulbs?
