I purchased my 89 Mustang GT Convertible about 2 months ago. The right fog light doesnt work. The bulb and switch are both good. I was told I need to rewire it. I searched and didnt find anything that specifically told me what to do.

Can someone please tell me what exactly i need to do with detailed instructions, pictures would be great. What parts I will need, where to buy them, etc?? I have my dash out right now So I figure it would be a good time to complete the rewire. Thanks in advance guys.

Clean the contacts on the factory wiring first. Use a small wire brush or a screw if you have to. My money is on the connector not being able to transmit voltage to the bulb.

The same thing happend on my car when I bought it.

Is the connector you are referring to the one directly behind the fog light that doesnt work? Or is there another, or other connectors that are in the wiring path? Thanks for the reply and please let me know asap so I can work on it tonight. Thanks.

Since there is only one light that doesnt work, he means the wiring for that dedicated fog light (behind the light fixture). I also think you probably have a bad ground back there.

Good luck.

Don't know if I am too late or not. I was busy all afternoon. I was refering to the connector that the fog light actually plugs into. It is supposed to be weather proof, but mine had built up a thin layer of corrosion. Once I scrapped off the crude, both lights came on.
