Ok i just bought a 95 mustang gt last weekend. The guy put on a cobra front bumper with foglights but they do not work. So i took the center console apart to find out that the switch was not even hooked up. My problem is that there is a gray connector for the foglights i assume. It has 8 wires. It will not plug into the switch. Is there a adapter that i am missing and if so anyone know where to get it (dealership??? radioshack???) and what the part number is or what it is called exactly. Or is the switch wrong?? It looks right compared to what i see in other pics i have found online The connector has round "plugs" and the switch has 4 spade terminals. Any one know which colored wire goes to each spade terminal on the switch. Also i found another thing under there (no it is not the convt harness. It is a white piece of plastic with a metal "plunger" and a wire hooked to it and there is a screw in the plastic that has a black ground wire to it. If i push the plunger there is power at the the other wire. Any idea what it is or what it is for??

OK guys i just found a decent pic and it looks like i need an adapter to do from the connector to the switch right? Where can i get it at? Or is there a way to bypass it from the one end of the connector to the switch using spade terminals or something?

Heres a pic of mine. I re-wired them so the foglights are on all the time. But the switch hooks right up to the gray plug. The black plug isnt used in coupes. Its for the vert tops.

hmm thats odd. Your gray connector is a lot smaller than mine. The one i have in mine doesnt find inside plus the gray connector has a "cylinder" stlye plugs and the switch has 4 spade terminals. 2 smaller facing one way and 2 smaller the other way. I think i need a piece to go from the gray connector to the switch Right?

That connector is completely different from the one i am looking at. I took my whole center console out so maybe the connector you have has another connector down further (i believe). I think i need the connector that you are showing. The connector i have has 8 wires. 2 red/black, black, yellow, 2 purple/red, blue/white and a blue (i think those are the colors not 100% that is close to the colors of them though. I believe i need the other end of the connector i have then the wires from it to the adapter (end that goes to the switch. I dunno ill try and get pics in the morning maybe if no one else understands me lol. I dunno what the previous owner did to the wiring but the wiring for the cigarette lighter and the power supply (or w/e you wanna call it basically a cig lighter without the lighter lol) is not there. Both of them are not hooked up and i dont see the wires. I wonder if the white plastic thing's power wire is supposed to go to the cig lighter. I gave up on her for the night try it again tomorrow with some more help from you guys i hope. Thanks

Ok i have good news. I found a pic online of what i have been trying to explain and it looks like i am missing a piece.
Ok here you see there are 3 gray connectors total. I am missing the last two of them. The one that fits into the switch and the female connector that connects into the male connector which i do actually have. Does this clear it up any? Any idea where i can find what i need? Will the ford dealership have it? or can i bypass it completely by taking the wires from the connector and putting spade terminals to fit inside the switch. In this case any wiring diagrams for it? Also i just noticed the convertible top connector is way different. What the hell did the previous owner do

Here is the pic of the connector i need
That would plug from the male connector that i have to the switch at the other end. Think i can get it at dealership or will i have to get the female connector than just use spade connectors to the switch? I also see that white plastic piece that i was wondering what it was for. Looks like it is supposed to be attached to the parking brake. Will fix that up tomorrow too hopefully. I wonder what it is supposed to do lol

IDK WTF is going on with that wiring. Mine only had two wires. One for the vert top and one for the lights.

I didnt follow this (I read it - I just dont get it). I think you're saying you dont even have the fog light harness and connector (like TGGT has). If so, I like your plan (I'd J/Y that thing, though LRS might sell it) to get one and splice it into existing wiring. If you dont find the OEM foglight wire feed from the switch to the lights, just run your own wire to the relay under the hood. You should be able to find it by doing a continuity test with the other end of that wire at the fog light relay positive coil terminal though.

That's some goofy stuff man. Good luck.

You have me totally confused on the wiring part. I'm like Green GT .... I only remember there being a harness for the convertible top ... and one for the fogs. Sounds like one of 3 things here ....

1.) You are trying to use the wrong connector. Is there another one in there? Did you take the console COMPLETELY out to check?

2.) You have a different style switch. Does the one you have look like this one?

3.) The PO has removed the connector that you are needing and threw some oddball connector in there for another type switch.

As for the plunger type thing with a wire connected to it ..... sounds like you are describiing the sensor on the E-brake that makes the light come on when it is engaged, lol.

Pull the entire center console. You will have to at least lift it half way up to reconnect the little white switch on the side of the ebrake. Is your Brake light always on? If so, its because that is off, that little switch on the ebrake handle controls that light.

You SHOULD find further up under the console the correct harness that the one on the console for the fog lights will connect too. Whatever the original owner did is insane.

I cant give you a good pic of it because I have a 2002 console in my car.

Well I did have the console out completely. That is for the e brake i realized that. This is just making me wonder what the hell the guy did to the car and it is hard to explain to you guys what i am looking at. I think 50hissin understands me best lol. Ill try to explain it better again lol. There are a total of 3 gray connectors in the line that end up at the foglight switch. I only have the first male connector. I need a female connector to fit into it and the other end of the harness would plug into the fog light switch. Still with me? So i need the last "harness" that plugs into the switch lol I dont know why it is not there but i am pretty sure that the connector i have is still the proper one. Ill see if i can get some pics (its a ****ty digital camera but ill try lol) I looked @ lrs (latemodel restoration supply right? already and they dont have it. Looks like a junkyard if dealership doesnt have it.

I'll stop by the pull n save on my way into daytona and see if they have any fresh SN95's for you. If not, I know of some junkyards that would have it... just dont know how much they would want.

Ill have to do some checking up here in sd. i bet i could find one. I may try to make it work by putting spade terminals on the wires and skip the connectors and go right to the switch.

Mine go off when the car is off. But I can turn them on whenever I want as long as the car is running.

lol, you guys...

he's not talking about a fog light re-wire, he is MISSING A HARNESS. there is a main harness that splits off into two--one for the fogs and the other for the vert switch (which coupes don't have, obviously).
