fog lights

I just noticed that one of my fog lights is dimmer. I tried changing both of the bulbs and the dimmer side still appears dimmer. Also, one of the fog lights is pointed straight forward and the other one is pointed about an inch lower. Are the fog stock fog lights adjustable?

you might have a crack in one the dim ones housing and condensation is causing the light to have a more difficult time shining through. i had that happen in my 04 GT when i had that car. except that the light bulb blew up in there and i waited until late spring to fix it so the condensation turned into a pool of rusty water and i had to replace the fogs completely.

I believe the fog lights are somewhat adjustable.

As far as the dimness issue, check for condensation like stated. I'd also take a multimeter and see if you are geting more voltage at one connector then the other.

I hope having light bulb exploding isnt the case. I did have one of the bulbs blow up in the fog light while driving to vegas in the extreme cold. I did see condensation in the fog light but that was true in both sides. Do you think it is only a matter of time before these needs to be replaced than?

I was actually down on my back looking into the front bumper from the wheel well and i honestly dont know how that fog light is installed? I see the fog lights are mounted in a black enclosure held up by 3 screws (2 on top at each corner and one at the bottom). Do i have to remove the whole entire enclosure when I change out the fog lights or do I just change out the fog lights itself?

I also tried to find any adjustment screws on the fog lights, but i couldnt locate any. Does anyone know how to adjust these?

I don't know about your year but my '98 fogs are not adjustable. They are bolted to a bracket that is attached to the actual bumper (not the front fascia). Some years ago I had some guy rear end me which caused me to bounce off the car in front of me. It bent the passenger side of my front bumper but my fascia didn't look damaged so the repair shop didn't mess with my bumper. Later I realized the the bumper was bent because that fog light was pointing differently. I crawled under the front fascia and I could see how the bumper was bent. I had to put some wood block shims in there to straighten up the fog light. One day I'll replace that bumper.

99+ fogs are adjustable. Look at am staight on. On the inside corner, you sould see a phillips head screw. Take a long screwdriver and turn the screw and that will adjust up and down aiming of the fog lights.

The crappy part is after you aim them, you have to walk 50 feet away to see if they are even

If you can adjust them then you should be able to do it just like your regular headlights... Have the car sitting on a level surface and then point them at a wall or a garage door while adjusting them. It's pretty easy that way.

the stock fogs suck. you can pick up a decent aftermarket set for $20 thats the same basic shape.

I was wondering if anyone have a picture of what the adjustment screw looks like? I have been under my car three times now and i cant seem to see what people are talking about?

Please help. I tried looking up American Muscle and other sites for pictures but i cant find it.

Are you looking at it from a distance and finding it dimmer or is the actual light itself dim? If it is the later it could be a bad ground.

I no longer have my car, so i can't take a pic.

Basically sit on the ground and look at your fog light head on. Look on the inside (towards the middle of the car) behind the lens and bumper for a phillips screw with a spring. You may have to push the bumper aside slightly to see it.
