hey guys i changed my mind and im going to run the saleen bumper with the rest of the gt kit, i was told it wouldnt look to good, but after seeing demented's car, i realize that my vision was exactly like i though. This is just how i want my stang to look and i will be doing this before paint . Here is a pic of his car for reference, \
\

my question is there anyway to run foglights with this bumper? i love my foglights and would like to retain some sort of foglight, I know the round stockers wont work but maybe the 96 or newer rectangle style would work, let me see what ya got.

the rectangle ones would probably work but you would have to do some cutting of the LX bumper behind it and figure some way to secure them other than screwing into the urethane.

Here is a example of what it would look like. The Lights are PIAA, but mine is fiberglass and have brackets in the back. There is no problem with clearance from the LX front piece, but mine is not a Cervinis, so the fit might be a little different.

correct me if I am wrong but isnt that the razzi kit or something, its not the saleen kit! And I think the openings are different to on the saleen ones

It is a 1991 Xenon Saleen version. They don't make them anymore. Just thought I would let him see what it might look like. I do believe that the cervini front does have deeper holes, but the locations are the same. An as you can probably tell my kit it flush at the bottom all the way around the bottom lip, instead of being recessed toward the middle.

It is closer to what the early Saleens had for fronts. Like these.

Personally, I wouldn't bother doing it, either. For one, if you want ground effects with a Saleen front/rear bumper, throw on some proper Saleen-styled pieces; if you want GT GFX, then stick with the GT nose or a Stalker bumper. It just looks like you cheaped out and threw on GT pieces in lieu of Saleen skirts to save on costs, and the body lines don't go together right, IMO.

As far as foglights added to front-ends that didn't originally have them ... I was hoping that practice had stopped sometime around 1993, when people were adding foglights to EVERY car on the road. Sure, you *could* poke a couple of oval- or rectangular-shaped foglights into those openings, but ... WHY? It'd look goofy (just my opinion, though) and you won't really be gaining any real night visibility.

That kit has nothing to do with Saleen. None of the dimensions of the panels are remotely similar.

It's a Xenon body kit, but it's not a Saleen copy at all.

I don't have pictures on my work computer, but if you look at the late 80's Saleen's, the front is the same. I never said the rest the the GFX package was a Saleen, just the front.

I said it was a Xenon Saleen kit because that is the name of the actual kit I have the paper work to prove it even thought I didn't buy it. Every time I post a picture people PM me wanting to know what the kit is, so just telling people from the get go!

Beside the whole point of the post was to help 88Blacklx, as he asked what it would look like with fog lights. Since I had the pict handy I thought I would help out and hope that I did.

Backfocus, the front of your kit and the front of a Saleen kit don't look alike at all to me. Yours is more rounded, and the holes at the bottom don't look nearly the same, not to mention the extra ridge above the holes. Thats just my take on it, but you are trying to help him out which I commend.

Personally all these pics make me never want to toss fog lights into my saleen front splitter. I think it looks terrible.

Also the GT side molding wont match the LX front moldings. To me I would notice that before noticing how clean the car was, but to each his own.

Unsure what you mean by that 25th nothing GT on my car. In fact the body kit is no longer on my car. This kit was on it when I bought it in 1993, it was fine for back then, but I am currently redoing the whole car and am uncertain if I will even put any kind of GFX package back on it.

But as for the front, I think people are getting confused as to what the actual Saleen bumper from a late 80's car looked like. People tend to look at the Cervini's and think well that is a Saleen. but the early 90 and late 80 Saleen's had slightly different styled fronts. I am not saying the one I had is exact at all, just saying it is more like one than the other. I called the kit a Saleen because that is what the kit was called and it is close to the late 80's style front. Look up the pictures and you can see.

I am not telling anyone what to do if, or the car looks bad to me or not. I was just trying to help 88 out period. That"s all I have to say about this, as this is not the point of this thread. It is about 88's question.

Negative.

I'm a die-hard Saleen nut. No OEM Saleen kit looks like that. None of the lines are similar at all. They may have modeled it after the Saleen kit, but it is nothing like it at all. The side skirts are similar, but the front and rear bmpers are different

Backfocus, the GT trim thing was referring to the Saleen front and GT side/rear skirts... not your set up.

I know a few people with Saleens from throughout the 80s and 90s. I have never seen one that looks like yours, but probably havent seen every year Saleen up close.

Alright guys im back sorry i havent responded, got a new screen name cuz i got banned for freedom of speech, lol. whatever

These are the lights i was thinking about , and i would want them tucked in a lil bit, as not to be flush with the bumper.
