We installed a Steeda CAI with mine...stock TB and MAF...I'm running a Bassani catted X and a Borla catback...with a custom SCT tune from Paul Meister at Steeda.ca in Toronto.

340rwhp on a Dynojet

we gained 115rwhp

115 with the stock TB and MAF! :nice:

SWEET!

Well I have some goals to fulfill before I go with my KB. Those are to make 300RWHP N/A and to run 12s N/A on street legal tires. I like doing things the hard way...sure I can buy a S/C and beat any N/A guys out there, but whats the fun in that? I like to work for my power, makes me appreciate it more I guess. Than overtime add more and more and do different things....its also good to have plenty of experiance both N/A and S/C. I really dont want to skip any part, or any Hp range lol. Like go straight from the 200s to 400 lol. just me though i Guess.

My 1st goal was to get car paid off. Done.
2nd was to pay off credit cards. Done.

If I ever decide that my goal is to buy "every part in the book" I'll (1) Let MPH do a great job for me. (2) Let Steeda build me a Steeda Q car to my liking. (3) I'll find out if a "stock" Z06 from the future will still be able to spank my finished Mustang...and may decide to go that route instead. I'll just wait and find out later. :)

Man 205/238....that thing must have been a dog, would have teken everybolton in the book to stay with a stock 5spd lol. Good choice.

Well, most properly setup autos often perform a lot better than their dyno #s indicate. They'll never win dyno queen awards, that's for sure. That being said, it was still an embarrassing experience when ppl ask how much hp/tq my stang was making.

Anyone know what kind of numbers the 6lb Kenne Bell kits are putting out on the dyno?
On a bone stock car, I've seen as low as 300 and as high as 330. Most of them are running on the low side of that range. Some people neglect to mention or take into consideration a catback, high-flow mid-pipe, or T/B or something to that effect when the make the higher level numbers, but anywhere you make improvments to the intake or exhaust end of things, the numbers are going to go up......but keep in mind that it's also not considered a "stock car" anymore either. ;)

With a Catback and CAI & 8lb. pulley he put down 375 whp. with no tune, just the KB chip. That is very respectable for the non-intercooled kit. He has run up to 10 lbs. w/o detination with some octane booster (which probly did nothing on top of the 94).

IMO...that's very cool....VERY COOL.

But I'll kindly let his car be the guinee pig.

Bolting on 100+rwhp on your stock GT makes a world of difference...but +/- 30-40rwhp while risking an 8lb pulley and healthy fuel is not my game....not to mention the lack of a custom tune.

IMO...don't walk that close to the line.

Very impressive though. :nice:

Thanks for the advice. This probably won't change my opinion, but I never really got an answer about the cooler on another thread...what portion of the radiator/condenser is covered up by the cooler?

Thanks.

The Heat Exchanger mounts to the bottom of the front frame rail it covers the bottom of the radiator not much at all 7-10 inches maybe. the intercooler itself mounts to the bottom of the blower in the discharge manifold.

Roots/Twin screws work alittle different than a centri as far as intercooled applications go.

once again i stongly recommend not getting the non intercooled kit. Only because that 6 psi pulley sounds like fun and it will be, but after a few weeks you'll be like hmmm the 9psi pulley has got to be a whole lot of fun. the intercooler giver you the room to grow later

I'd try and drive the car fairly decent, but with the 9# KB...I don't know how long the stock rear axles with the 4.10s would stay happy - same for the transmission.

You shouldn't have any problems with the axels or tranny on the street with street tires. You will run into problems with those if you get sticky tires and suspention that will let you really hook up. And in that case, you can break things with way less than a KB.

I have absolutely zero issues with the 9lb, and run premium 92 fuel. If it is a money issue, get the 6lb. But if you are not getting the 9lb because you are concerned about the drivetrain, that should not be a concern. The 9lb kit is the way to go on the street.

As for the KB air kit, most of the increase comes from haveing the larger MAF and TB. I used the MAC CAI, Lightning MAF and Accufab TB as I think the KB kit looks a little cheesy for my tastes. I have seen guys argue that the KB air kit is supposed to work better, but my numbers are right in there with the guys with the KB kit and tune, so I don't know if that is just marketing hype to sell parts or not.

90MM, but I had Krazy Koncepts in Portland OR do the install, so I can't help with the fitment. Must not have been to bad though or I am sure they would have said it was, we were on the phone a lot during the install. The Chicane tank on an '03 was a real bugger though. We had to have it modified as there was a sensor in the fan shroud that was not there in the earlier models.

Which Lightning MAF are you using, the 80mm, or the 90mm and how was it as far as fitament to the Mac CAI?

I just got a MAC blue hose adapter that fits the air tube perfectly to the Lightning MAF, it was around $20ish directly from MAC.

I guess I'm doing alright then with my FRP eaton at 336 RWHP at 6psi. BTW can anyone tell me for sure if I have a M90 or M112. The guys at modular depot swears it's a M112 due to the size and some manufacturers says it's definitely an M90? BTW, I will be upgrading to a 9lb pulley since I'm now running the snow meth injection kit. I will have it retuned also, should I be ok with this setup?

Your FRPP kit utilizes an M112......the only Eaton based M90 kits for the modular were made by Saleen and AED. The sure fire givaway is the giant pulley in the front. The M90's use a much smaller pulley (3" for 6psi approximatley) to make those same boost numbers. You making 336rwhp at only 6psi makes sense, considering that the M112 is slightly larger than the KB 1.7L.

Thanks for the advice. Okay, I'm just going to go with the 9 psi and be done with it. Tired of waiting and worrying.
