Was reading some old post and came across this: http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=581073

Was curious on your mustang in front of the radiator there is a box that has a CS on it, is that a oil cooler or some type of grille radiator shroud?

Thanks.

Of course the "CS" is for Mr. Shelby. Emblem actually came off one of the Dodge cars that had his name on it - sorry, can't remember which one it was.

The aluminum is a shroud that I fabricated for two reasons. First to help with cooling (especially the 3 hour enduro races) and also help the air dymanics on the front of the car. My grille (the diamond embossed stuff) if taped up because there is a huge "pocket" where the air can go behind the grille and has no where to get out. Now when air enters the grille area it can only go through the radiator.

I am still working on a concept to put a dam behind the radiator and vent the air coming in out the hood aka GT-40's or out the rear of the hood or under the car. This can be done but I have resisted so I can keep the historic/vintage look of the car.

I will put up some pics of the aluminum shroud.

Thanks,

Hey Historic, you might try just putting a small, unobtrusive 2"-3" dam at the base of the radiator support. This will create a low pressure area at the base of the radiator which should help pull the air from the radiator to vent underneath the car.

Wow thanks for the pictures.
I had actually thought of doing that for my F-350, but going to make one for my 65 Mustang now.
