Something I did not see a lot in this discussion is Turbo's. While people will say turbo's have a lag, on a V8 its a lot less. Remember you are installing a turbo on a V8. You will have tq no matter what.

A friend of mines has the Turbo HP kit and his boost comes on around 2900 rpm. I believe he is running 8pd of boost, and his car screams at the track. He of course runs the GT500 fuel pumps, and bigger injectors, but no matter if you supercharge or go turbo, you will need to do this anyway.

So for me, I think I'll be going turbo. No stress on the crank, and you can always turn up the boost if needed.

Don't like getting involved in these because someone always has a heart felt opinion. My suggestion, get out to several cruise nights and ride in cars that have the blowers your interested in. Every enthusiast out there loves to give a ride.

I picked what I picked because it fit what I wanted to do across the board. Asthetics under the hood, power where I wanted it, room to grow, sound, customer/techical service down the road and so on.

Every blower has the ability to put your car in the red zone in terms of the stock bottom end, you can't go wrong with any of them.

which forced induction power adder is the most consistent

How fast do you want to go? How consistent do you want to be? Our car is setup for bracket racing where 1/100s of second wins or loses.

Another totally non performance tid bit to remember...

Kenne Bell vs. Whipple, You won't get as loud of a "Whine" from the KB, whipples scream everyone one will know you have a blower, But The kenne Bell's are relatively quite at "streetable" boost levels, But you can definatly hear them.
Centrifugals don't have much of a whine at all.

Personally i like the Nostalga (sp?) of a supercharger whine.

A firend of Mine has a KB and he beats the piss out of his car, never has had a single problem with a KB. They are well built, (maybe not the biggest bang for the buck) but it won't ever fail you...

I loved the nostalgic look and sound of the Whipple. Below is vid of mine on the dyno. The whoop (rather than whine) is very cool (IMHO) but gets expensive - you want to hear it all the time.

Nostalgic look? From what era? Whipple came out with these in 2007.

Nostalgic as in a big ass blower sitting on top of the intake as opposed to the Saleen or the new Edlebrock style where it's buried in the valley or under a bunch of plastic.

Right on Glenn - love your style! Nice to see you back posting - hope you're coming around a bit and feeling better!

BTW - Did you see my thread on my new Street Scene black chrome grille? It took about two months to come and I'm so disappointed in the fit and finish and then the lack of customer service.

Good to hear you're feeling better. I'm in an email exchange hoping to convince SS to do the right thing. If yours is the same as mine, I'm now wondering whether they have actually fixed the problem or not.

Unfortunately I've already installed the lower (wound up drilling some holes to get it to fit right) so don't want to have mismatched grilles. Lesson learned is right!

TVS was designed for GT500 or built motor with lower compression. Otherwise, wait for new pulley that takes boost down to single digit for stock motor. Standard Eaton (roushcharger) is a better choice for stock high compression motor.

Make it simple:

Roush P51 compression ratio: 8.6:1
GT500 compression ratio: 8.4:1
GT compression ratio: 9.8:1

TVS boost level: 15 psi
Stock GT500 Eaton boost level: 9 psi
Roush M90 boost level: 5psi (w/73 mm pulley)

Why would anyone put 15 psi boost on a 9.8:1 stock block? That is asking for trouble IMHO. If you "de-tune" a TVS to take boost down to single digit, does that take it out of its "sweet spot"? It would give you plenty of headroom if you decide to build a motor later I guess. Does anyone make a larger pulley for the TVS system yet?

I have this exact question.

My car is at the tuner right now and as they were trying to tune it, they said it was pulling 17lbs @ 2300 rpm. I could have misunderstood him but that didn't sound right to me. They want to call Roush for some details on a bigger pulley. I have a 06 GT auto, btw.

The name of the company is Autograf (Autograf Signature Automobiles - Houston Late Model Ford Shelby Mustang Car Performance and Tuning Shop). Their office is inside the Fastlane building, so the guys doing the actual work, as far as I can tell, is Fastlane off 1960 and Jones Rd. I think Autograf specializes in dealership specialty cars. Like all the Mach 1's over at Lone Star Ford, they do.

It's an impressive shop. GT500's as far as the eye can see. Always something trick going on.

Where do you take yours?
