Well I'm at school but my dad went to pick up my car from Ford. It was getting a new Heater Core. You guys told me $600+ in labor.....try $900 in labor to install a $125 part. I should have just waited and took care of it myself

My heater core was 17 dollars Lifetime warrenty and it took me an hour and 45 minutes to install it. . Total price including wendys and pizza was 30 bucks..

I just wanted to get it done and with my schedule I have no time to do it so I figured just send it to the local Ford Dealership.......bad idea, my dad is going to assist me in paying it since he uses the car sometimes, but still

Did you ask them before they did it to provide an estimate for the labor and price for the parts?

This would have been a good way to find out what they were going to charge, since they should be going by the book cost being Ford.

It was totally a my bad, I was back at school my dad dropped it off and everything so I was not on scene. I definitely take fault, I knew it involved disassemblying the dashboard, but I guess was hoping for something slightly better in price

I'm 20 and at a Federal Service Academy, its no biggy.

My dad has yet to pay for my car or anything on it, but he said he wants to assist me on this since he drives my car occasionally since I'm not home. It def is a live and learn thing I guess.

That kinda stinks. i like that my car does not have air conditioning because the heater core install is very easy just behind the glove box maybe a 30 min job.

first you never get your work done at a dealership! its usally 2x or 3x more then what the adverage shop charges! you need to find a good rep. shop around your area you can trust!

i would only let a dealership touch it if it was under warrenty...
