ford racing cat back ??

hey guys,
summit racing has a ford racing cat back system, all stainless steel, 3 inch tips, for a total of $303.90 shipped. just wanted to see if anyone has any info about this sytem, i dont even see it in the reviews section. sounds like a real good deal to me, i might order it today if i can find some positive feedback on it. let me know you think, thanks a lot

yeah link. I didnt know that ford made a catback. I knew they made headers and they were pricey.

i bought it today, hope it works out as good as it sounds. noones heard of this yet? summit onthe phone said it was new and priced to get it out there, they talked me into it

curious if it is chambered or not?

3" tips sound nice, especially if it is 2.5" tubing and flows well. It will be a while before someone gets a decent sound clip of the new catback with an x and/or h pipe.

I had never heard of this kit either, so I dug through the FRPP catalog, and guess what! There it is! M-5230-M51 cat-back kit for 1986-1997 Mustangs. You can check it out online at www.fordracingparts.com. Note that they also have kits for 98+ as well. They sell the tips and mufflers (from the late model Cobra kits) seperately for those who wish to weld on to their current exhaust.

i bought the frpp stainless headers with ceramic coating and they are fantastic; hopefully your cat-back will be just as good...i almost wish i waited to find one of those, esp. for that price! good luck and let us know how it goes!

hey guys thanx for all the replies,
its getting put on thursday. im a little weary that it says it fits some older lx models as well as newer 4.6's? but both ford and summit said it will fit my 95 5.0.... so it had better fit on. smit i notice you have a bike, i have a "vintage" 2 wheeler as well, a GT rebound, though i think its a couple yrs newer haha. judy sl long travel beats a quadra . i call the bike my GT slow i'll let u guys know how the exhaust works out looks real nice

I have that set on my car. I have the factory H-Pipe. You can see the rest of my set up in my signature.

It is a high quality set in my opinion. I don't think it will rust off any time soon.

However, it is not loud. I don't think it is any louder than stock. It sounds a little deeper and I noticed some SOTP increase.

well i must say the 3 inch tips look real nice, and the system is definitely one of quality, being stainless steel and all. the fit was fine according to the mechanic shop, i mean it is made by ford for their own vehicle so you gotta expect that. as far as sound goes, it isn't loud by any means but i think it sounds good. nice rumble when you start it and at idle. really seems to make the car breathe better but i cant really say for sure as i had some other work done at the same time (new fuel pump & filter), as the car was running not so hot. now my car is fine, i'm happy with the custom exhaust and the new overall performance.
now i have headers and a cat back, but still the factory h pipe, i should do something about that.......
