ok the PATS transceiver(s) on the steering column are also still aval but there are 2 choices depending on build date, before or after 3/25/98?

Ok, the build date is 2/18/98...

I went and picked it up and the sheet said they pulled codes P1260 and B1681. Anyone know what those are? Randy? SVTTech?

Thanks again!

p1260 means that pats disabled your car from starting.

b1681 is a pats TRANSCEIVER signal not detected code. this could be caused by a bad transceiver

i dont think they would discontinue a part like that

Seriously. PATS are still used by just about all Ford cars, and Ford disables parts like that? That makes no sense

But i agree. get handheld tuner, and disable it.

the part is still availible. he needs to just buy it from randy and get this over with if he has not done so already.

All the parts are still available. I called a couple of other Ford dealers and they all said they either have them in stock or could get them. But since the Tech said he wouldn't charge me (and I didn't really trust them to do the work if they can't even find the part) I just went and picked the car up and plan on doing it myself (unless it needs reprogramming).

Thanks for all the help, problem should be fixed soon!

Well, I got a Diablo chip tuned with my ECU code and PATS turned off = didn't work. Then Diablo said it's hit or miss with turning PATS off, mostly hits. Should have known I was going to be that one miss. Probably different since it's a Cobra model.

They only thing left to do is have all the PATS components replaced and keys reprogrammed. I'm just wondering what are all the components?

1) Key Cylinder Transceiver in steering wheel.
2) Anti-Theft Module in trunk.

Is that all?

Alright, long time coming, but finally got a new transceiver.
The old part number was F8ZB-15607-AB and the new one I got is the same but -AC. Is that correct (build date is 2/98)?

I plugged it in and now I get different errors. It used to blink on off on off. Now it blinks on off on off a lot faster and then gives the code (from what I can tell by timing it):

11100010 over and over again, not sure where the code starts or stops in the sequence but it's:

111000101110001011100010111000...

Any ford techs have another clue?

old wives tail, just not true and even if it was, his car is a 1998 and that SN95 body style started in 1994 so going by what you thought, 2004 would be 10 years, not 2008.
