Maximum Motorsports claims that the universal cable has better clearance for headers...it's also a good $100 cheaper than the 1994-1995 specific cable. What exactly is different about the 94-95 specific cable?

When I took of the clutch dust cover the rubber covering the clutch cable was shreaded to ****. So I'm pretty sure I could use a new one :D

And for anyone that's going into removing the driveshaft for the first time...PB blaster and a couple swift kicks with your foot are your best friends :nice:

is the universal cable the one that comes in the quadrant/cable/firewall adjuster kit? if so that is the one i just put in (the whole kit) and i love it

I believe it is kyle...unfortunately they changed their website a bit and they no longer list that kit as being for sale. it was around $120 right? I emailed them yesterday but no reply yet...good to know it works well though. I'm sure they'll still offer it

yea pretty sure it came in around $120 or so. i bought it over a year ago and just put it in with the new clutch this weekend:eek:

Since you put it in so recently, I have a question for you...I noticed in my haynes manual that once you take the clutch dust cover off, you have to press forward on the fork in order to get the clutch cable off...my fork didn't move at all...I simply moved the cable and it came out...

my clutch ****ed off on me last summer so I'm just trying to make sure I don't miss any potential other problems along the way

had you disconnected it up top at the quadrant already? even if you didnt, its not really a big deal. it just means that your cable was loose.

I had removed it from the quadrant...and I figured that this was the reason...just wanted to set my mind at ease. Thanks for the reinforcement bud.
