I was wondering if anyone here has ever heard of a ZF tranny in a mustang? The ZF came out of late model f250s and is quite stout. It also has a creeper gear for those times in traffic. Im thinking it would be nice to throw on in a stang since it has a hydraulic clutch and is so strong. You could just grab one out of a 2wd truck right?

Only the 3/4 tons and up will have the low creeper gear. I thought about that a long time ago, but there is no way you could shift them quickly. They are very big heavy and shift like truck transmissions.

The issue is not the length of the lever, just the fact that everything inside is so heavy and not designed to quickly shift. It will shift fine if you are just crusing around. Dont expect to power shift it or drag race with it. Another note is that it is going to suck some hp because the internals are so heavy.
