Forged internals....whats involved and how much?

Why are you replacing the block??? Is the block itself that weak?? Why not just replace the internals and keep the block??? IT seems like a waste of money to me to replace the block if you forge the internals.

I think Im confused...It might be the term im using, but I thought have the "internals forged", what just that, not replacing the engine...?

I dont need a new block to have this done...right?

So...how much, to have the engine that i own (factory engine), have the internals forged?

I saw $5500 for the whole process....but, is that with a new block? or with my engine already?

Ask Michael Kidd about strokers. He has a 5.0 ltr stroker in his car and he wishes he spent the money somewhere else. 4.6 is plenty

You can probably get the parts for around $1400-1500 if you just have your GT crank balanced (rods, pistons, rings, bearings, etc.) It's the machine work that will cost - usually about the same as the parts, maybe a little less.

The only difference buying a shortblock is the block itself, which is relatively inexpensive (for a windsor or romeo factory block). I had quotes of $2600 - $3200 (including parts) to have a forged rotating assembly installed in my block. That is roughly the same as finding a reputable engine builder and simply purchasing a shortblock.

Keep in mind that all the pricing above is with the motor out of the car. This does not include labor to have it torn down or put back in.
