Just thinking about the Fox of the month thread. 1991notchbackLX had been doing it and admits that he cant anymore which happens, life outside is 1st.

So I was wondering if it was going to come back at all and I know that a couple times recently it was rough to get nominees or votes.

I was curious if the thread carried anymore interest amongst the fox crew so I thought why not a poll about the poll.

Would opening it up beyond Fox of the month and finding a way to incorporate the sn guys the 197 people and the classics into a mustang of the month make it more interesting or just too complicated.

I know Im on here everyday looking for interesting stuff to read or comment on (which means I probably need to work more instead....nah)

Just throwing it out there to see peoples thoughts love my mustang and really enjoy this forum so just thinking of things to keep it interesting.
Thanks!

im FOTM Co-Admin. We were having a very hard time drumming up interest and getting people to nominate and vote. Used to be a pretty big deal, and it faded out somehow. We then both got very busy (happened to be at the exact same time) and no thread was made for a month. No one noticed, because no one was voting anyways. 1991notchbacklx has since stepped down from it all together, but im open to any ideas or suggestions at this point.

I say start it up guys. While I don't know too many people personally, I've read back on all of them and thouroughly enjoyed looking at the cars and such. I think it's a great gig that used to have a big fan base, but you're right, it has slown down. We can revitalize it though. This can work!

for a while that was exactly the problem, very small group of cars that kept getting REnominated. not knocking those cars, they all deserved it 100% but i think it made people lose interest. I think including the other forums would help to gather more options, but it becomes very biased when theres 1 sn95, 1 s197 and a fox, for the most part, people tend to stick to their own "style"

although, it would be hard to organize, i think a stangnet CAR of the month would be cool.
between
SN95
Classic
S197
and the fox guys
(v6 too but they are very inactive)
sort of like a playoffs of sort. voting within each forum and the winner of each goes into a final pole and members could vote for the OVERALL nicest car of that month. maybe a small feature spot on the main page

just an idea that i think would drum up interest, but i have very little pull around here as im not a mod.

or maby we could do like a different category every month like best modification to an engine, or most well kept. you know something different every month so that it dosent get old and everyone would possibly keep there cars more updated to get notice to be nominated?? just an idea.

I could see like interior of the month engine of the month paint job of the month. Catagories like a car show with interior exterior and engine. Setting up a thread for each car nominated with points awarded for each catagory and at the end of the voting the most points wins. I think polls can be set up to allow more than one option to be clicked. I dont know, just sort of freestylin here

I'll take it back. I stopped for awhile because of life issues but, if you guys really want it to continue on, I'm all for it. I had it really well organized. I was really proud of it. Tanner can stay on as Co-admin. Sound good?

i dont think it will be successful regardless.

the active people who nominate and vote every month, are the same guys who just keep nominating each other. it becamse too much of a popularity contest. i stopped looking/caring when it was the same choices 6 months in a row for cars. or damn close to it..

just my 2 cents.

I support anyone who feels up to the challenge 100%. I personally don't think there are enough active posters to make the contest work any longer. Sure the 5.0 Talk section gets thousands of views a day, but only 15 or so guys post religiously, interspersed with your occasional newb asking about a 5 lug swap or 4 to 8 cylinder conversion. I just don't think there's enough competition to make it work anymore. But what the hell do I know?

I liked it and would vote when I saw the threads. There was the same cars over and over again, but it's "us lurkers" who should be more active and post nominees too. I don't see anything wrong with adding other mustangs into the mix, if you're a mustang fan you probably like more then one style.

What about a Fox of the quarter? Every three months instead of every month. Just food for thought.

I think it may be time to pack it in for a while. I agree that there were a lot of repeats but that wouldn't have been an issue if others continued to nominate newer candidates. For me it was people harping and complaining in the nomination threads that was the turn-off.
