I found the correct pushrod length but the length is 1/4 longer than stock. The heads are NOT 1/4 difference in thickness. I have measured the stock head many differet ways and compaired to the RHS 200 cast iron heads i'm installing. They are so close I'm wondering if I'm off on the pushrod length. The pattern is almost dead center and very thin pattern. see pic.

Did you use a solid lifter made specifically for checking pushrod length? Regular hydraulic rollers will collapse under the spring pressure and your reading will be off.

yep i used a solid lifter...its hard to tell by the picture, but the actual contact pattern is super skinny.

You cant compare the pushrod length directly just based on head measurements being the same. There will be a stacked difference based on a few things.

If the cam changed enough in lift, the pushrod length can lengthen. Not to mention one is a pedistal mount rocker setup and one is a Stud Mount setup. Rocker design will effect pushrod length also. So will valve angles, but thats probably not one of your issues. Valve stem height is another one that will effect pushrod length.

What does the sweep measure out to be? I know you said it was thin, but to me it looks wide. Looks to be about .080 or so thick.

I use pipe dope because it shows the the curve of the roller...problem is the bare metal in the center is washed out in the picture. it measures 1/16 of an inch.

Personally I use dry erase marker on the valve stem tip. It leaves a more pronounced mark. But if youve got a .06 roll out, Id run it and not look back. Id honestly try it with something that will leave a finer line to the actual thickness of the rollout.

i used to use a black sharpie but the line was not very good....dont know why I did think of dry erase. I find one and try it tonight and post another picture if I have time. Thanks for your input.

Crappy results with a sharpie is why I went to dry erase.
