Ok, here's the problem: My AC works just fine, I can hear the motor and feel cool air eventually, but it won't blow out of the vents. It's my daily driver, a 99% stock '89 5.0 (5-sp if that's important). It has a black interior from a 90, but that shouldn't change anything around--at least I don't think it did, I reused the ducting from the 89 because that's all I have...
The AC works, but there's something wrong with the ducting--there has to be. I can feel the AC coming from the smaller grilles, just below the dash speakers, and it comes from under the dash itself, but won't blow out of the vents. All of the ducting is pushed up to the vents the way it should be, but it still comes out everywhere but there.
I'm going to have a LOT of time over the next week to mess with it, but I was doing that for 6 hours today already, and pretty much did absolutely nothing except get a lot of exercise.
Anybody who can tell me how to fix it, besides "Take it somewhere" I'm all ears. I went all through the dash, controls, and everything else from the seats forward, and I just can't figure it out. Again, I REALLLLY think it's something to do with the ducting...
Normally I wouldn't be worrying too much, even in the summer, because my windows are always down unless it's pouring... but this summer I'm going to be working pipelines in Houston, and it routinely hits 105+ during the day. I just really need to get my AC fixed, because I'd rather not spend most of the money I make on hospital bills after repeated heat strokes.
Thanks y'all... a timely response is MUCH appreciated.
