fox body saleen, what is it worth?? Good clean car, 5 speed with around 80K miles on it, 1989 model

Color? Rims style on it? Seats? Steering wheel?

It all plays a factor in the value.

Maroonish, momo style steering wheel, dark grey 5 spoke wheels, flofit seats, grey interior

$10K or so. If it is all original and perfect (doubtful with 80K miles) then $12K. Post up some pics.

wow, I'll have to try and get more info on it. I didnt realize they were worth that much! How many of them did they make?? Im not up to snuff on the details of the fox body saleen

In 1989, there was 895 saleen mustangs.
549 hatches Price was around $23,500 new.
165 verts
20 coupes
161 hatch SSC's (this is the one to have)

10 grand sounds about right, but i'm not so sure that maroon is a popular color, so it may be a few dollars less.

how can you tell if it's a SCC?? Turns out the car is red, were the saleens 5 lug cars back in the day??

SSC's are all white, with gray bumper trim, and yellow and gray stripes with white wheels.

Saleens were all five lug since 87. Using the svo disc brake setup in the rear.

I had a feeling the car was red, since the saleen book doesn't list maroon as an option. That's not to say there isn't colors out there that aren't on the list.

When did they start to supercharge them? And did Saleen upgrade anything on the 5.0L motors?....like pistons, rods, Intake, heads, camshaft, ect.

The SSC's in 89, were supercharged, then in 90 they used superhcargers with the saleen intake, and the car was now an SC. According to the Saleen book, you could tell a supercharged car from a non, by whether or not the bumper trim matched the car. If it did, it was an SC.
