can any one tell for certain if {fomco} ever put a 140 mph speedodometer in a production fox body and if so what years and models

I believe '90-'93 had a 140 mph speedo in any V8 models

someone please correct me if i'm wrong

Halfway through the 1989 model year was when the 140MPH speedo first appeared in an aero nose Fox Mustang. The trend continued for all 90-93 V8 models. 4-bangers never got more than the 85MPH speedo.


Ford did offer a rare aftermarket 140MPH speedo you could put in, and all 1982-1989 Mustangs used as SSP Police Mustangs came with 140MPH speedos. In 1990-1993, the SSP Mustang came with a 160MPH speedo.

I also beleive the SVO had a 140MPH Speedo, but it was only numbered up to 85MPH as was the law...but the tick marks were there and the needle would sweep past 85.

SSP Mustangs got 140 mph, "Certified Calibration" speedos, from 1982 until 1989 1/2. When the regular production Mustangs got 140 mph speedometers, the SSPs got 160 mph gauges.

are there ssp mustangs with airbags? i want the motorsport 160 speedo, but the only ones i can find are for up to 89 with no airbag so its a diff. shape.
