Hey all I got a stock 93 mustang 5.0 no mods what so ever. Went out for a ride today and wanted to give it some power. First gear seemed OK shifted at 5000rpm then when I went to 2nd and hit 3000rpm it's like I hit a governor the car just lost power and I had it floored. Did it a few times same thing happened. I kept it floored and it creeped to 4000rpm then power kicked in again but not explosive. Ithe also happened in 3rd gear also. Not sure if I have a bad coil, fuel filter, spark plug or none of of the above. Thanks

Dump codes sticky.
Look at the top of the 5.0 Tech forum where the sticky threads are posted. One of them is how to dump the computer codes. http://www.stangnet.com/mustang-for...codes-from-eec4-in-86-95-5-0-mustangs.889006/ I highly suggest that you read it and follow the instructions to dump the codes.

How long ago was the fuel filter changed? Check the usual things, fuel pressure, cap, rotor, wires plugs, coil.
Oh, and make sure one of your buddies didn't stick a banna in your tailpipe.

Just bought this last year. It has 52000 on it. The only thing done was plugs and wires. Cap and rotor is still stock and fuel filter is stock. I'll change the fuel filter and see if that works

I changed the fuel filter. I checked the cap and rotor and everything looked good. But I'm still having the same problem. Would it be mas is dirtyour, or another sensor I should look for.. all the vaccum hoses look good

Ok. Did the fuel pressure test. Started the car the gauge didn't even move. I let it run for about 10 min and the most pressure I got was 11 or 12

Time for a fuel pump
Pop the vacuum line off the regulator and snif it, smell gas and that regulator is bad, I would change the pump regardless, it is likely original.

Im thinking it might of had a bad fuel filter or bad fuel in tbe line. I didnt mentjon but i pulled a napa filter out. Well I come to find out the gauge I had didn't work that well and I should of figured that out when I hooked it up and the needle didn't move . Anyway got one that worked and got a reading of 39. I've been driving all day and put new gas in there and it seems whatever was clogging is out.
Thanks for the help.
