Fox guys, SN95 guy needs your opinion.

There has been about 5 local people to swear by the a9l computer for their 94-95 mustangs. They claim that it has been one of their best mods to do to their car. On the other hand, the guys from the 94-95 section on here say that our computer is better. What is your take? A local guy is selling me that adaptor thing with the bap sensor and fan control with a9l computer for $150(new). I'm short on cash but have enough to buy it, I just don't know if it's worth it. Would you guys do the swap or not?

i have read articles that state the fox computer was less worse then the sn95 computer.

The 5N95 processor (T4, U4, et al) are superior to the fox processor - it's the stock tune that's programmed into the 5N95 processor that bites. So guys will change the tune (even to something akin to the A9L Tune) and be left with their superior processor.

That said Nacho, I know exactly what you mean about the PIH swappers having very good things to say about it.

Here's my take: If you ever envision tuning the car (TwEECer, a chip, etc), keep your processor. If you dont envision a tune, the A9L swap might be very good for you.

Just MHO.

I have the tweecer but I don't know(and haven't bothered) to learn how to use it. And to be honest, I probably won't bother to learn either. It seems like too much crap. So if I get the pih, I will probably just sell the tweecer. I mean, my combo isn't that aggressive to where I need a custom tune or is it? Will I have any problems after I switch to 30lb and the 75mm MAF?

The stock fox computer is better. Learn how to use your tuning device and that will be the way to go. If its over your head, why did you buy it??? A PMS is much easier to use

Learn how to use your tuning device or sell it and buy soemthing that you can understand. Like I said, I use a PMS and its been awesome and easy to use.

JT- because they accept mods better and have a more aggressive tune from my understanding.

Actually the SN95 computer is faster. The A9L is a good computer if you are staying stock. If you are going to modify the program the W4H0 is better. If you are keeping the tune stock, the A9L is better. BUT You can only go so far with the stock A9L computer before you must tune and change that.

My advice to you is do what Grn92LX says and buy a PMS.

No way....the Sn computer is way more capable than the fox computer...It like hissin said the fox stock tune is just a little more aggressive. The T4mo computer in most 5 spd SN's is a very capable system with way more to offer than the A9's. I have used a tweecer on the SN computer and can tell you that it gives you more control and options than an A9L.

That was my point too! People are interrelating the processor with the factory programming.

I agree with JT.

The processor speed of the sn95 puter is much better than the A9L.

My advice...
Use what you have and learn to work with it .

There is a post in the sn95 tuning forum on this swap. As far as I can gather the correct answer is to learn the system you have.

The sn95 is more adaptive than the A9L, but you have to learn more in order to take advantage of that ability.

Just my thoughts on the matter.

Does anyone know what the adaptive range of the KAMRFs are in the sn95 puters?
The A9L is +/- 12%

Thanks guys, but I'm going to go ahead and get the kit and sell my tweecer. I've got buddies running low 12s with the a9l. I know each case is different, but my combo isn't all that aggressive so for my sake, I'm getting th PIH swap and won't worry about a tune until I get a bigger combo.

Have you done any datalogs with the tweecer?
I would be curious to see a before and after set of data.

Just a thought.

Data logs will tell you just as much if not more than a dyno will ever tell you. My buddy and I tuned his Kenne Bell 5.0 with 13# of boost and had no issues what so ever. With a Wideband and data logger you have all the info you will ever need to properly tune a blown car. One big suggestion though....ditch the FMU and tune it with the tweecer its way more precise. good luck man
