Looking for a good set of front speakers for my 93 fox (premium sound). Need something with kick, since I listen to rock music.
I currently have a 50X4W kenwood headunit, two MTX subs, and two 5X7 kaption for rear fill (running off of the head unit). My budget is $200-$250 at most.

I have had few reccomendations:
- powered mid bass in the door (kicker?)
- 3 1/2 inch coaxial in the dash for mids/highs running off of headunit

OR

single powered coaxial/component set

My next question is will a 6.5in speaker fit in the door? If so what brands are recommended?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

6.5" fit in my doors. I had to go with some speakers that had a shallow mounting depth, since the deep ones would hit up against the window tracks and such.

Good luck!

6.5" should fit in the door, you may have to use a small spacer to get them to clear the windows. You can go with some components and mount the tweets behind the mirrors, where the manual mirror adjuster would be if you had manual mirrors. It looks quite good.

I went with some Focal 165V's (6.5) but have to cut the speaker holes a bit. I ended up having sound custom pods built for them. Sounds great!
