Fox value over time?

I certainly think so. Not quite as much as older mustangs because they made so many of them. But I think the a Fox Mustang in good condition will be collectable one day.

93 Cobra's and Cobra Rs, and Saleens as well as any other low-production mustangs may go up in value, but it's likely that nothing else will in our lifetimes.
I own my fox because I picked it up for cheap, parts are everywhere, I can work on it... and it's always fun to drive... Even w/o A/C or a radio, I enjoy driving my coupe.
One day I think the true original low-mileage survivors will be worth some dough...
Mine is neither original, nor low-mileage... so I'm safe to continue modding and enjoying. I could never own a car I'd feel bad to drive.

A cars value is ony what the other person is willing to pay. you can put a price on anything, say a 93GT for 8 grand and someone bought it...then that 93GT was worth 8 grand to that person but doesn't mean they are all worth it. We are talking mainstream cars here so ther is always an average price for certian condition and that will never change, IE: roller, low mileage stock, low mileage modded, high mileage, etc, etc will all fall into an average ball park.
93Rs, fox saleens, 93 cobra, etc are different but again fall into what people are willing to pay they just start at a higher average than the mainstream fox.

Cars become valuable when the people that couldn't afford them have enough money to buy them. When I was in high school in the late 70's EVERYBODY in my school had a 60's muscle car. They were just "used cars" then. The hot collector cars were Tri-5 Chevy's. Now the cars that we just drove then have seen their values peak and plateau. The Foxes are already starting to head up because they're becoming more scarce and really nice ones are very hard to find. Now is the time to buy. Foxes are right on that tipping point between being just a used car and something that people really want to have.

...it seems to me that they are creeping up in value but I doubt they will ever appreciate like the classics. Think about it; you could buy a 64-68 Mustang new with all the options for $4000 or close, what is that car worth now in pristine shape original or resto...$12000-$20000? Thats 3 to 5 times the original value. For a Fox to hit that we're talking $45000-$75000. Even with our dollar being de-valued; that will never happen.
According to this calculator, $4000 in 1964 is the equivalent of over $28,000 now, so it still doesn't even cover it's purchase price, going by your values. According to the same calculator, my $18,000 'vert in 1993 would cost $27,000 now. It's not too far behind the 64 in real values.
On a mildly interesting side note, going by that calculator a $4000 car in 1964 dollars would equal an $18,368.93 car in 1993 dollars. That's within a couple of hundred bucks of the original sticker of my 93 convertible. So the values are pretty darned comparable. They don't have to go up by the same factor of the original price to be the same valuation in real buying power.

Yeah, I guess you're right. I was just thinking dollars for dollars but it really doesn't work like that.
FOX value seems to be moving higher. In Florida because State Troopers ******ed up all the Coupes (Georgia & Cali too), to find a coupe here in decent shape is a challenge. For those who have them know this information and they usually are priced higher than most. GT's and LX's hatches seem to be a dime a dozen still but it's all about condition after that. Most are pretty beat.

Don't buy a car for future value...you will always lose money on a car.
Buy it, drive it, enjoy it, and if you sell it, hopefully you get a decent price.

Yeah I bought my fox becuase it was a cheap faster car that not to many people have(atleast in my area). Id like to get somthing diffrent but I kinda hate to sell it incase it becomes somthing collectable in a few years

The aforementioned limited production cars AND the really nice, bone-stock cars should continue to increase in value. In shopping for a Fox body, how often do you find a car that has been poorly modified and hacked up? Conversely, how often do you come across a low-mileage, stock example? Its a double-edged sword, these cars can be picked up, relatively cheap, and modified to be pretty darn fast! That also means that Ricky Racer types have completely ruined a huge cross-section of these cars. I guess my point is, that the pristine, stock examples, I predict, will go up in value. Soon, they should be worth their original msrp, then even surpassing it.
Being that my car is neither a limited production car (atleast not that I know of?) or a really nice stocker it wont be very collectable.. But I do have most of the stuff to make it stock again. Its only mods are 3:73's, H-pipe and pony rims instead of the 10 holes. and to be mint only needs paint on the trunk lid were the clear coat is peeling and new seat foam and cover But I guess I'm just looking for excuses to not sell it

Cars are bad investments. Yes, a low milege stock vehicle will be worth something someday, but it won't justify the maintence costs. If you want return on a Ford, don't buy a Ford Mustang, buy some Ford Stock.
