My sister got me the UPR polished billet fueldoor for my 1990 foxbody mustang. Looks nice and the instructions make it look real easy, however, I do have some questions for anyone here who may have installed one on their foxbody or someone elses car recently.

The UPR instructions state that a 5/16 drill bit may need to be used to widen the lower hole that houses the lower rubber bumper. Was this necessarily the case or did your's fit without the need to drill?

Secondly, I find that the nylon locknuts are pretty darn tight just from playing around with the fuel door in my hands. Did you guys experience the same or did your locknuts fit/screw a little easier than mine? Did any of you have to go to the hardware store and get an entirely new set of locknut screws?

Thirdly, I noticed the door stays closed using a magnetic set up. My door's kind of a pain to open up with my fingers. Anyone else have this problem with their's?

Lastly, I noticed there's space between the door and the bezzle when closed. Will this be a problem when I'm washing my car????

Thanks guys

Go to www.uprproductions.com and look up exterior billet accessories for Ford Mustang and then check out the link for billet fueldoor for Foxbody Mustangs 1979-1993. There you'll find a photo of the fuel door and on the same screen there's a clicky to view installation instructions which shows the fueldoor on the car.

These things don't look to hot on light coloured foxbodies, but mines a nice new clearcoated black so it'll have a different effect.

Not too many people know this door replacement exists.

Sorry I cant help you on any of the problems your having but I do have a question. With that setup, does the square door open as a whole and the round center being just looks? Or does the square flange bolt to the car and the center circle section open?

I think itll look good on your car. Like you said the black will match it better than caramel whatever color the above stang is. Make sure to post up picts when you get it in. I have a 85gt black and am just curious as to how they look on black cars. Good Luck.
