My car runs pretty good, but it's everything that I can do to keep up with my friends 01 T/A. He has a true ram air kit, true dual exhaust (turned down), and a 3500 stall with d/r s. He kills me out of the hole, but he doesn't gain any distance on me once we are going(still 2 cars ahead though). I stay right with him at a roll. If I put slicks on should I be able to beat him, or what will I have to do?

you have a high 12 sec car....he is probably the same. He is making upwards of 290 at the tires and you should be arouns 285-295.

If he has dr's and a stall....it will be tough for you.

Tough call,

I have these mods on my 97, pretty similar, and I rarely lose to them.

1) better tires will help, but if he is that setup for drag (IE stall+slicks) you dont stand much of a chance unless you are setup close to the same. your 4.1's will help if you can transfer that power to the ground during the first 60ft.

2) Spray. if once you guys are moving he cant get an edge on you now, if you get a bit of juice flowing, you can probably put quite a pull on him. Even if he outlaunches you, with a decent amount of juice, you might be able to not only catch him before the end of the 1320, but pass him up as well.

3) A set of Longtubes would be nice as well, help your overall performance.
