Freaking ford dealership!!! Help!!

So I take my car to them to have them try and figure out what this code 212 is doing to my car. I just didnt want to start replacing stuff without knowing exactly what was wrong with it. So i drop it off, hey call me like two hours later and say they cant figure out whats wrong with it. They said they couldnt get the right codes. They said my car is to highly modified for the ECU and it wont give them the correct codes.And they are getting codes that shouldnt exist.(311 and 314 im pretty sure. Has to do with no smog pump) The thing is i told them what code i was getting(212 ignition module circuit failure/spout connector grounded) How they didnt get that from their code reader is beyond me. They told me to take my car to a high performance shop. So now i gotta walk about 2 miles to go get it(nobody can take me there before six)

I had doubts about taking it to ford. But now i know not to anymore.

At least it was free. Do you think i should just replace the ignition module -$108?????

Where is a good mustang place. Or performance shop near kent wa

from the looks of your profile, it looks like its not super modified like they say. i take it your motor is primarily in stock condition?

if u are having problems with your ignition, just do a tune up with it including replacement of the wires and the coil.

I had problems with a local Ford dealership and then I took it to another Ford dealership. Lets just say you will be amazed what other dealers have to say. Lets just say when I took my stang to Bowen Scarff in Kent, they fixed my problem that I had for many months. Versus the other dealership had me replacing parts left and right and it didn't fix my problem. Good Luck

The only Ford Factory shop I would goto in the NW is University Ford.
I only let Brian Holstein there do my warrenty or related work.

I would take it to brads. But its almost an hour away. I live in kent and need to go somewhere around here. I took it to the covington bowenscarf. They were the ones that said they couldnt help me.

IM about to wits end with this thing. I feel like just taking it and trading it in for a new(er) once.

that would be dumb though, cause they wouldnt give me shat for a 95 mustang that needs repair work. Its almost undriveable now.

Take a day off and take it to Univeristy Ford and have Brian fix it. Mines more modded than your motor and it was a non issue.
They won't complain and can fix it.
Brads will probably forward you there like they did me for my roller rockers.

IDM stands for Ignition Diagnostic Monitor. Usually when this code appears it means the ignition module is on it's way out. However, modifications or wierd secondary ignition problems can decive the PCM to set false codes.

If you have a chip installed, remove it. If you have an ignition booster (MSD/Accell ect.) or aftermarket tach installed, try unhooking those too. Make sure your cap and rotor aren't crossfiring (look for trace marks). Make sure your wires aren't inducting (spark jumping from wire to wire). Check for a bad secondary coil wire. The list goes on......

Ignition module.. it's the most likely problem.. get a lifetime module from Schucks (pay extra for the lifetime one, you will need to use it) I am on my 4th module for my 94. I have had that code also and it was the module.

Also make sure your spout connector is in.

Well i took it somewhere else. They replaced the ignition module, cap and rotor and fixed nothing. It still runs like crap. They then thought the MAF was bad. So they ordered a new stock one. I was like whoa now. So i just took the car back. Ordered a ProM 80mm and put that it. It didnt fix anything. I know it wasnt the MAF, but it was worth a try. Also the guy said when he replaced the module and cleared the codes it didnt come back, wrong.....wrong..... I just ran them again, and guess what i got. A 212 again. F.....what is it?????? Im now thinking about maing the trip to bradscustomauto. 700 dollars later..........nothing.
