fresh motor gushing oil filter housing

i dropped in a fresh motor in my 97 gt started it and almost all the oil dupped out. i looked and where oil filter screws on the peice that drops down to make the oil pressure gage work was broken off. i looked in the junk yard with no luck of finding one anyone know where to get one. also do i need a dipstick? i put bbk shorty headers on it and i cant fig. out how to get all the way in i got it about a quarter of an in. and it pulls out if you try to take the stick out of the tube.

Lokar makes a flexible tube that others with headers have used with much success. If you use the AutoZone tube just make sure it is good quality since you don't want to lose your oil if the tube pops out.

You might try using an open end wrench that just fits the stock dipstick tube. Slide it down and then put pressure on the tube while pushing the tube down. It should 'pop' into place.

For the leaking part, you need the oil cooler adapter (I think the '97 had one) from Ford. It is unlikely that there is an AutoZone or NAPA replacement part.
