From N20 to what Turbo??

So my 91 lx ran a 12.2 on the motor and 11.4 with a 100 shot. i used the 200 shot a few times and it was out of hand. ive been wanting to build a turbo setup for a while and i cant decide what turbo to buy. i want to run at least a low 10 if not 9's. I have AFR 185's, victor 5.0 intake, not a very good turbo cam but i will buy i different one, and all the other good bolt ons that will hold up. ive been thinking about a 62-1 turbonetics that says it will be good for 600hp. im thinking maybe a bigger turbo now like a T-76. i dont know much about turbos so i need some input from people who do. thanks

You would be fine with a T-76, assuming your short block will hold up. HP Performance packages their race kits with this turbo, as the entry-level head unit. This size turbo should support about 1100 hp, which should give you a nice cushion of available power, to make sure you get your target ET. As far as brands go, pretty much all the current players in the turbo market are reputable (Greddy, Innovative, etc.). Buy the best turbo you can afford, not the biggest!

You can make the power but like what was posted above me but you need to worry about your block and pistons if your planning on going over 500hp.

I would stick with Turbonetics turbo's myself for more reasons then I am good friends with the owner and managers of the company.

It cracked me up the last time I was at their shop there in Simi Valley as there was a long bench that had several other turbos from different manufactures there, most of them were big names that they serviced and claim that they are better then Turbonetics, but use Turbonetics parts and are serviced by them. :D

Hopefully if things go the way I want them to I will have a turbo mod motor under the hood of my car here so I can join the turbo notch club. :)
