Front caliper "clicking" noise when parking brake is up

well it probably has nothing to do with the e brake but for some reason they set up our brakes so that they have alittle bit of play on caliper and rotor...everyone around me has this sound every once and awhile its just stuff slidin alittle

Not sure if your year had the infamous ebrake recall that us sn-95 guys had. Our ebrakes would not hold the pony on a hill. I wonder if that has something to do with it...?

I have parked on a hill before no problem. I just turn my wheel to the opposite direction facing the curb so if my car does rollover, it'll just go against the curb but so far so good.

Do you park on a incline? COuld be the car settling a bit against the e-brake.

I always pull my parking brake up regardless of where I park but mostly, it's just a small 1" incline.

I read in the "GM Guide for Women" (got it at Auto In Motions) that automatic transmission cars should have the e-brake up before letting go of the brake pedal when parking so the "automatic transmission won't be holding the weight of the car."

That is correct. I do this as well EXCEPT if i park for a few mins (getting gas, running into the store, etc).

If there is any sort of incline, or the car will be parked for a long period of time, i set the parking brake...even if on level ground.

The little teeth that engage when you put a trans in Park are not that big. Plus if you don't use the parking brake, it tends to rust up to hell.

You do exactly what I do :) I hope I'm doing the right thing. I called SSBC tech support, and they say the sound is most likely the piston retracting/detracting (or something like that) and said that it's okay. I hope they're right.

i NEVER use the ebarkeon an auto car. there is a reason it has a PARK gear

really? the GM guide for women told me to though! hahaha :p you have one sweet car by the way
