Front Coil-Overs, which brand???

This year I am just building the suspension and I have decided I am going to convert my front suspension to coil overs real soon. I've been looking at different brands and such trying to decide what brand I want to get. My suspension is being built up for drag. I have HPM Megabite upper and lower rear controll arms comming, I plan on Lakewood 90/10 front and 50/50 rears, MM CC plates, and evenutally a rear roll bar.

MM looks nice, but I probally don't need that much. The main one's I am looking at are D&N and Granatelli. What about other brands???

Did some research and a PM and I think I am going Granatelli. X2C seems to be the least expensive but Granetelli seems to be the best for the buck, plus summit sells it.

It seems that you have your mind made up, but I'll just throw this in here, I just installed a MM coil over kit with Bilstein's in my '92. While I don't have any experience with other brands, I am extremly pleased with MM's quality. Coil overs are the way to go. You will not be disapointed.

I have to agree with 9 Deuce GT. I don't have much expirience with the other brands but I just installed front and rear MM Coil-overs with Blisten shocks and the difference is amazing! I highly recommend them and I HIGHLY recommend anything MM makes.

I see you went with the drag kit but I'm more street/auto cross kind of guy. Anybody know what spring rate I should be looking for?

i know this is old but I would look at AFCO coil springs as they have a warranty for free height and after trying several flavors the afco's are were they are at..

I run D&D's coilovers all the way around with 70/30 struts and 50/50 shocks. MM CC plates with spherical bearings..no complaints and good prices.

I've got the GROUND POUNDERS at all four corners...rear kit envolves no welding (only kit available w/ no welding)....they work great...completely adjustable ride hight....nice ride...pretty cheap in price compared to some other brands....anodized.....no squeeks...pick your spring rate when ordering...good shhitte....find em on ebay....

I suggest that anyone with lighter springs take them off and see what there free height is.. Mine used to be 14" but were 1" shorter after 6 months so I changed them and went AFCO...

i run 400 pound springs up front...not as stiff as you think. my front end comes up nicely and the ass end squats thanks to my goldline progressive springs and lakewood 50/50's in the rear

400 pound Coil over springs?

yeah they are rated at 400 lbs....i was told though that they are rated kinda stiff they are really like 325....

I run 135's in mine.. Granted it's for race but 400 WOW... My car was like a brick with the 175's

they are stiff but road control is awsome. my rear suspension is set up for drag racing and it squats pretty good. and the front pulls up nicely. wish i pulled the tires off the ground though

what does everyone think about X2C's front and rear kit? I'm thinking about picking this up and putting in on some 50/50's and 70/30's. It's daily driven but see's the track as often as i can get there (read at least once a month)

If you are going to buy struts and shocks you should go adjustable, the Strange stuff is very affordable and works well.

I have the UPR front kit like Bill, with a QA1 150# springs. We saw the springs collaspe on our full weight 93 Cobra, UPR switched them out after they were found defective, ended up with a 175# spring...and I thought that was heavy, 400 WOW!

I'll be going to the AFCO springs if I have an issue, they are very nice.

The spring height and weight all depends on your specific car, front end weight, use, etc...
