Hey, i was pokin around under the stang today and i noticed that my drivers side front ctrl-arm/tire/caliper area has a part thats loose... I'm not sure what this peice is called, its much tighter on all the other tires. I'll describe the piece as best as i can:

Its very thin steelish piece of metal that is the same shape as like a caliper sorta but its really thin and kinda long.,...it almost makes half a circle... sorry for my ignorance, hope y'all can help me out.

thanks

If it's the same rough shape as the rotor (not caliper), it sounds like a splash shield.

Though those splash shields are kinda lame, I would take all suspension 'looseness' issues very seriously.

Good luck.

It probably is the splash shield. It isn't too big of an issue but there is no reason not to fix it. On older cars that tended to have these very rusty, we used to just take them off. So you can do that is you need to but it does keep some brake dust off the suspension and more importantly it keeps dirt, debris, grease, and water off your rotors.
