Front Dual Fan - Will It Do The Job?

I'm thinking of getting a dual front mount fan that will be in front of the radiator (behind bumper). Will this keep my engine cool even though the radiator is in my way? Will it flow enough air through the radiator? I want to stay under 200. Any idea who makes a good dual fan if this works? Thanks

it may work but pullers alwyas do a better job than pushers.

It's a Dodge Viper single fan that's real slim and moves a ton of air.. It not a pusher fan though, so you would have to install it like normal. Supposedly it does 4000 cfms.. I just got my new motor running and with the 31x19x3 afco radiator this thing cools like crazy. I just turn it on and leave it for now until I get the fan settings changed in the chip, but so far it never get's over 185 degrees before the T stat will open up and the needle will drop to 160 ish and do it over again. for 150 bucks, you might want to look into it.

my zirgo fan is 16 inches and rated 3300 cfm and is just 3.3 inchehs thick at the motor.

Here are a few pictures of my electric fan set up.. I installed an AFCO 31x19x3 two core aluminum radiator along with the 99-2002 Dodge Viper Gen II electric fan part # 04854720AA. I was told that on low speed the fan will do 3000 cfms and pulls about 25 amps and drops to 8 amps once up to speed.. On high speed the fan will do 4000 cfms and pull about 30 amps and drop to 11 amps once up to speed. The fan is ony 4.5" thick and has 17" blades so it's a pretty thin fan when compared to some like the Mark VIII which would be comparable in cfm output. I installed mine with a 75 amp relay and have it wired to come on high at all times bypassing the low speed completely. It is wired into the low speed wire of the factory 94/95 harness and will come on at the time the low speed OEM fan would have and can be controlled via chip. I also wired in a toggle switch for manual operation if needed. The fan can be bought from a Dodge dealer for about $204 or you can buy them from PDI (305) 218-1486 for $150 if anyone is interested.

what does it man 4.5" thick? Look like 2" in the pic??? Kind of confused on that. I only have 3" between my radiator and supercharger, will this work?

Killer50Stang, thats a hell of a setup! I will be upgrading to a 3g soon and want an electric fan. Now I am thinking about a Viper fan. What mods did you have to do to get it to bolt up? Any pics during the install? Would this be overkill on a stock motor? I will be using a DCC though.

It's 4.5 thick at the fan motor. Although I had to space it out another 3/16-1/4 inch or so for the blades to clear the radiator. As delivered it's 4.5 at the thickest point including the fan motor.

Nothing to getting it in there.. just buy some radiator straps that go through the radiator and mount the fan, and I don't care what some may say about the straps, they work great and I've used them on two fans and a tranny cooler without issue. How does the fan itself mount? Through the radiator? or with some kind of straps, I'm not seeing straps on your setup. Sounds like a good deal.

What did you use to space the fan out...the blades were hitting your radiator?

the fan comes complete with the shroud and everything. It just mounts flush on your radiator and you put the zip tie straps through the holes, through the radiator, and push on the other end of them.. You can buy a kit of 4 for about 7 bucks at any autoparts store. As far as spacing the fan, I actually spaced the motor not the fan shroud. The motor has 3 or 4 bolts that holds it along with the blades tight. Just take the bolts out of it and add the correct amount of washers to move the fan motor outwards. This will inturn bring the blades into the shroud so they won't rub the radiator when you have it strapped in. Not a big deal just need about a dollar worth of small washers. If you get it you will see exactly what I'm talking about with the motor and bolts.
