Hey there i own a 89 Fox and i was wondering what type of modification/fabrication would be needed to fit a mercury capri rs front end on a fox? Any help would be appreciated.

I would think you would need hood fenders nose and the metal bumper. Cause i think the turn signals are in the bumper. But i also think it wont look right unless you ger the rear flared 1/4 panels and weld them on also. peace

So everything would just bolt up the same way as the fox? Im thinking about doing the conversion cause my uncle has a capri rs thats sitting around, and i dont wanna start tearing into it without knowing what im getting into. Also which flares are you talking about? Do you have a link to them or a pic i could look at? Cause i saw a thread where they did a conversion and it looked f****n sick. Are they the stocks from the capri?

the fenders and rear 1/4's had the flairs. hit up frankenstang, or actually just hang out. I am sure she will chime in soon enough.

Heres my advice...

DON'T DO IT!

There are not that many Capris around anymore. There are no new aftermarket parts for these cars. I was having a hell of a time finding a nose for my Capri. It was converted to aero years ago. http://forums.stangnet.com/764657-p...cury-capri-aero-four-eye-progress-thread.html

Put an ad on Craigslist and sell it to someone who loves Capris. Go here Four Eyed Forums - Powered by vBulletin. I'm sure you'll find someone willing to take it off your hands. I have an aero nose if you need it. Just PM me.

The Capri nose will fit on a Mustang with no problems and all you'll need is the nose, hood and all the moldings so they match, as well as a rear bumper cover that matches the moldings or it's gonna look like crap.

BUT....... DON'T FREAKIN' DO IT!!!!!!!!!!

Capris are rare to say the least and to hack one up to make a monstrosity is a waste. Frankstang is having a hell of a time trying to reverse her car because someone did exactly what you're getting ready to do. Don't be a butcher, leave the Capri alone and try to sell it to someone who wants a Capri.

If the Capris fenders and such are good then why not just restore the Capri?

+1

I own an 82 Capri since 8-01-82 and would never think about butchering it. A Capri is a Capri not a Mustang. With that being said I also own 86 and 93 Mustangs and would do nothing to change them either....

I could have bought a 82 GT, if the sales guy wasnt an ass I would have but he was and I walked across the the street to a MErc dealer and brought home my 1st new car and the car I still have.

What he said. Seems more logical than taking apart a rare car to bastardize a Mustang.

I've been on these forums long enough now to know that people are going to do what they want no matter how hard you plead with them. Possession is 9/10 of the law, haha. I can only offer my advice and agree with Frankenstang and Capri Debris and implore you not to butcher such a rare car. If the Capri is in decent shape either restore it, (drivetrains are a dime a dozen) or sell it off to someone who loves it for what it is. PLEASE don't hack it up. My neighbor just finished a twin turbo 347 capri with T-Tops and the thing is amazing. Do the right thing!

I would love to agree with everyone, but the capri is all busted. Only thing thats good on it anymore is the hood, doors, and bumper. It got smashed from behind a while back and its just been sitting there rusting. Figured i would put it to use somehow. I would like to restore it but i lack the funds to do all that bodywork on the car Im not the type to hack up a good looking car just for kicks. THe back looks like a crushed coke can ha. Also what does that aeronose look like frankenstang??

There are pics of it in my progress thread.

I'll take pics of it off the car tonight after work.

I honestly think the red car would look better with Mustang quarters. I don't think they fit a coupe roof line at all.

to me the capri fenders on a coupe are reminiscent of the old wide body kits, just scaled down slightly

still wouldn't hack a whole car up for the quarter skins though
