Front sway bar mounts

I have a question concerining my front sway bar. I notced one of the brackets that hold the sway bar up is snapped. I got new end-links installed on the car a while ago. It just seems like my sway bar is out of wack about an inch and it won't move to the correction location where my broken bracket is. I probably could Gorrila the sway bar so it fits in the stock location but its pretty rigid. Could my lowering springs be the promblem?

I'm gonna buy a new braket but I dont want it to snap again. Is there anything else I should check out? The sway bar it self looks soild and is not bent or anything.

Any idea's? Thanks

With the end links in place you won't hardly be able to move it. If you take them off you should be able to reweld the bracket and be all set. They do seem to snap sometimes, not terribly uncommon.

I forgot what company made them but there are sway bar bracket reinforcements made. Probally UPR or Wildrides, I really don't know because I relocated the front swaybar to the attic.

Allright I was thinking about ditching the sway bar all together. But I'm afraid of the response on the street. I'll look into those reinforcements. Thanks for the replies.

I've broken mine twice

off right now till I get time to get back in there and try again to get it to stay.. it's not bad without it.. corners like crap of course.. but not to bad.. but I will put it back on.. I'll have to look for those braces.. the factory spot welds just arent enough

I took mine off and put a bar from from rail to rail in the front by the rad to help make up for the loss. Just the A arms are not tied to each other anymore, but having the front frame rails tied in should help a lot. It was easy, I just used an old curling bar, cut to fit. Looks sweet, but I have yet to test it, as I need a clutch.

take the sway bar off and install it as a wing on the back of your car. its the new ricer style!

That would look great on my new 90 MX-6. It's pretty fast well not that fast but Im not worried about other ricers while driving it. Which is good thing.

I'm gonna order the MM reinforcements really soon.

trophyhead nailed it right on the head. the stock swaybar box is only spot welded onto the frame, and is prone to breaking with age and definately hardcore cornering. maximum motorsports sells a reinforcment kit for only $15. problem is you gotta have it welded in if you dont have access to welding equipment. i figure it wouldnt be too expensive to have a shop do it. i did it on my buddie's lift w/ my own welder and it took about 1/2 hour to do.. thats with preparing the surface, painting the new welds/bracket and cleanup. it looks pretty damn sturdy now i i dont think i will have to worry about it ripping off when i am bombing around chicanes/
