Shopping 'round for new injectors as a possible fix for the everlasting Satanic curse upon my ride. Just a tad confused about the details I see in every ad regarding the 19-pound Ford Racing injectors I see listed in JEG's, Summit, 50resto.com, etc. I don't have anything super-duper special enough to warrant 24's or anything more than stock, I just have a suspicion that the used 19#four-hole injectors (sourced from a '95 4.6L T-bird) I installed to replace my cracked, leaky-arse single-pintle 200+k-mile injectors are causing this intermittent surging/power loss issue I've been wrestling with for so long now.

Every ad I see for these things specifies "Must be used with recalibrated Hi-Flow Mass Air Flow Sensors only." What kinda crap is that? Nineteen pounds is nineteen pounds, right? I can see needing a MAF that's calibrated to match the size of the injectors (like 24# or higher), but how the heck can one supposedly calibrate injectors to match a MAF?!?

I'd look into another eBay auction for a set, but even though I got the last set for a decent price and all ($75 shipped), if it turns out this set is the source of all my problems, then tack on another $400 or so for the other parts I've plugged in there trying to fix the issue and it's not so much of a savings versus, say, $210 a set from Summit...

So ... is the "calibrated hi-flo" line a bunch of bunk, or what?

i think the "must be used with recalibrated blah blah blah" stuff is for the larger injectors, and they use it for a blanket statement over all of them.

newer style injectors aren't the cause of your problems ....my friends been having hard start issues (suspected to be a leaky stock injector )so we put my 2002 Gt stock injectors in his car to see what would happen and now its starting easy and running like a champ ........19lbs is 19lbs
