im looking at getting some new springs for my car. I was just wondering what the differences between the "B" and "C" springs are?

which ones are better?

i currently have 17" x 9" rims with 245/45 tires all around.. i want it to be low, but not slammed.. i would like there to be about an 3/4"-1" of space between the top of the tire and the bottom of the fender.

which springs would achieve this best?

i wouldn't pick the FMS springs personally if you like an even drop. the fronts drop over 1" and the rears only drop 1/2".

the B and C are the same except for the C has progressive rate front shocks. both have the same rear shocks.

personally i like the eibach pro springs.

i replaced my fms rears with the eibach pro's and it evened out the gap. they are a 1.5" drop all around. i got mine off ebay for 140 i think.

Actually they are different.
Ford B springs are 425-530lb front and 200-300lb rear.
Ford C springs are 650lb front and 200-230lb rear.

I'm running Steeda Sports, which are basically Ford C springs 650lb front and 200-250lb rear. My car sits on a bit of a rake and is still a bit high. I wish the rear was just a touch lower, but it's not bad.
Maybe take a look at the H&R Sport springs.

i guess the texasmustang catalog is wrong. i've also seen a chart for the rates and the b and c had the same rear ratings. did they change it recently?

Hmm, now I'm not sure. I did another search and found THIS

The all progressive rate B's should ride better than the specific rate fronts you get with the C's.

I still suggest to the original poster to take a look at the H&R springs. I think they'll be a better choice than B or C.
