FRPP "B" spring amount of drop

I'm so confused...if these springs are supposed to drop more then why are they not even all the way around? I do not understand how one side can be off so much as compared to the other. If this is what i have to look forward to to save 125 bucks on springs screw it i'll just get a pro kit.

Well, ya have to keep in mind that the springs were originally developed for the fox cars. We are asking them to work on cars that have some differances as far as weight distribution, suspension geometry(I assume), etc.

Maybe I am just to anal about how the car sets. To be honest, the initial measurements I took showed that it was off from one side to another with stock springs. I just never noticed until I put a tape on it. I would have to say that I would consider the "C" springs, only because when I sit down in the car it is dropping a good 3/8"or more. I think the "C" spring with its higher spring rate would prevent most of that from happening.

I can say this though as well......knowing what I know now, since it looks like I will have to buy C/C plates anyway due to the drop that I was trying to avoid, I would buy the Eibach springs. That is the only reason I bought the FRPP springs...... because of the ADVERTISED drop.

Annoying to be sure. But you're probably better off with the Bs over the Cs, as I've heard the Cs give an extremely rough and frequently unpleasant "real world" (i.e. not a track) ride.

Ah, classic Ford manufacturing "quality", your stock setup being lopsided as well...

The FRPP caster/camber plates are around 160 I think, so might be a good avenue if necessary. Are you swapping out your shocks as well, or keeping the stockers for now?

If you dont have a drop of over 1.5'' you shouldn't need cc plates. Thats what everyone says atleast.

How much were the springs? I was looking at the Eibach pro-kit and it looks like a good set for the money BUT the spring rates are like identical to stock. That has me wondering wether its worth it to spend all this money on a set of stock springs that are just shorter. I should be able to just cut the stock ones if i want the stock spring rate but just lower. Id like to have something along the lines of the mach 1 springs but i want a 1.5'' drop. Does anyone sell springs like that for a good price. The steedas are the closest i can find to the spring rate im looking for but they are more money than i want to spend.

Oh yea what about the F springs...they look good for 1.5'' but are people gettin drops more than 1.5 on 94+ gt's?

I think the "F" srings were originally developed for the 94+ cars. They should give a true 1.5 inch drop I would think. It all boils down to the world famous equation: discretionary funds minus sore muscle/back discomfort divided by end satisfaction times spouse silence........

I never hear anyone complain about what they got with Eibach. Its what you pay for. I am beginning to believe the same thing about C/C plates. The more I read, you might as well pay for Maximum Motorsports, or you just may end up sorry. The $200 is tuff to swallow though when others can be had for $150 including shipping.

Given what the "spring guy" said about their being introduced after 1994, the number's probably right on. So looks like Bs *can* lower up to 1.5, while Fs *will* lower to 1.5.

What's interesting to me is that those with B springs on their 1994-1998s are seeing a bigger drop than those with 1999+ Mustangs... I think BigConig didn't get too big a drop on his '02 with the Bs (he kept his stock shocks, and no adjustable c/c plates needed I seem to recall...)

To answer another question for me, I plan on running the stock shocks for now. I had removed my sway bar from the front to help with weight and weight transfer on launch, but based on what I am seeing with drop when I sit in the car, I am going to put that back on to help add a touch more tension on the front end so the tire/wheel will be a touch less likely to bounce due to road irregularities or bumps/holes. Might not make any dif, but it couldn't hurt. If it keeps the car from leaning, it may help control this a small amount too.

I know I do not have another $400 laying around for big name struts/shocks, so I would more than likely go with the Mach 1's or Bullitts set up.

So how much money are we talking about here?

F springs are how much? $125?
$175 for Mach 1 shocks/struts
$50 for isolators?

Can you buy the springs online cheaper or do you buy them only at your dealership?

That is what's funny. The lowest price I have seen the "F" spring is about $215 which is what the Eibach's will cost ya, give or take a few bucks. Same cost, same spring rate, same drop.....I wouldn't be surprised if they aren't the same identical spring.

all this talk about buying eibach springs instead...I am about 95% sure that eibach made the ford racing springs for ford

But what is the deal...someone was saying that you can get springs AND mach 1 shock/struts for about 300 out the door.

Thats what i'm looking for.

I like the B springs ride is great I just wish the back was 1/2 inch lower

Kirkyg.....not sure why you are dead set on new shocks and struts. Is it time to replace old ones anyway? I guess if price is the bottom line, you could go with the "C" spring which runs about $130 for the set. They are a little cheaper than the B spring, I guess because of the slightly rougher ride (but they are supposed to handle better if that is important to ya). Another post early in this thread said that they do not really ride much rougher than the B. Then go with the Mach 1 struts/shocks off of Ebay and you should be able to stay below $350 including shipping and everything. HOPE YOU DON'T END UP NEEDING C/C PLATES.

I finally decided after sleeping on it that I am buying the Maximum Motorsport C/C plates. Bought them this morning off of Ebay for $191.95 w/free shipping.
