Fuel pressure question

How many lbs of fuel pressure should my buddy be running on this car?

1994 SN95 GT 331 stroker
Mac cold air intake, BBK 75mm throttle body, 80mm maf, equal length headers, gt-40 iron heads (ported), cobra upper (ported) and cobra lower air intake manifold, ford racing roller rockers, diamond forged pistons, scat forged i beams, t-rex 1000hp fuel pump, 32lbs injectors, 9qt oil racing pan, wolverine b racing cam, tremec tko trans, pro 5.0 short shifter, flow master 40 series, off road h pipe, bf Goodrich drag radials, 3.73s, msd blaster, cap, rotor.

Fuel pressure should always be constant at the fuel rails at 38psi with the vacuum hose off. Is he running lean?

Actually he is running rich. He has an exhaust leak at the headers and you can smell the gas in the exhaust. I am just helping him get it running right, the timing was 20 degrees off when I checked so we decided to check everything we could.

I prefer 43.5 psi. It's a nice round number.
