Fuel Pump

I noticed the other day that their was a hiss when I got out of the car. It was really loud and I thought it was a tire leaking. As I got closer, I noticed that it was the external fuel pump on my SVO. It is the higher rate pump and I was just wondering if anyone knows what is making the thing still run. Is it in the ignition. This is probably why I go through a lot of gas.

Another thing, on the SVO's, can I just get a 255 lph pump and mount it in the tank and delete the external one? Or maybe justa 5.0 in-tank pump will do? Any suggestions? Thanks

Well I can't help on the other part of this but I do know you can replace the external pump with a intank pump. From what I understand the fuel pumps amd FPR are the same on a 2.3L and 5.0L. I would either run a 190 ro a 255 lp, I think a 255 will need a adjustable FPR. If I remember also that a 190 will support 350 hp and may not need a adjustable FPR. I got a chart on it some where and will post it when I find it. When you go to replace the intank pump you will need to run a different ground but I'm not sure how its done. Check out SVOCA they got a few post on this. Now when you go to tank that brass lid off the fuel tank becareful because sparks could well I'm sure you can figure that out ;) Here is a link and hope it works.
