I stopped at a light and I heard a significant thud. Like if someone knocked on my bumper. It always makes that noise when I turn the car off. Do you guys think my fuel pump is going bad?

Thanks

I can't imagine you'd hear a thud coming from your fuel pump......I'm afraid you may have to try to be a litlle more acurate.... why are you questioning your fuel pump? anything else?

I was sitting at the stop light and thud. Then after a long drive I get to my garage and turn the car off. Then I get the same thud. It doesn't always happen. I'm questioning my fuel pump because I like to drive until its E. I'm a college student so I like to budget my fuel.

It could be you have some kind of fuel
problem that is causing a dumping
fuel into the cylinder when off causing a detonation.

By the way, it is a killer of the fuel pump if it
runs dry for any time. So running on E
is dangerious to your wallet.

Could be the transmission or rear suspension. The fuel pump is unlikely.

Maybe the motor mounts are shifting?

Yeah I'm cheap. I'm not running on E anymore.
