I have a 1995 v/6 that will not take gas. the gas nozzle keeps kicking off when trying to refuel. I have traced it down to the venting evaporator canister... but can not find it on the can... Any help would be great. I used AutoZones site to track down the problem. But they don't show the location. Any & all help is appreciated & Web page/site would be great too!

Thx John

I've not actually worked in this, but understand the canister is reached by removing the plastic inner fender liner at the right front (passenger) side. IIRC, it is under there on the firewall side. Good luck.

Update:
checked my 1994-1997 Haynes Manual....section 6-24....yep, that's where that rectangular shaped canister is tucked/hiding.
After removing that plastic inner fender liner (and the right front wheel) you should see it tucked up high on the firewall side.

- Clearly label, then detach, all vacuum lines from the canister
- Loosen the canister mounting clamp bolt and pull the canister out

oh yeah......and shake $80-$100 out of your piggy bank...ouch.
Pricey enough that you might want to be absolutely sure it's not something else! That AutoZone thingy is very generic, eh?
