Full length sub frame connector ?'s for vert owners

I want to replace the factory shorties with some full length sub frame connectors before my next trip to the track next weekend. I've looked at a lot, and have read that some of them "Need to be modified for convertibles" or "hardtop only". I'm leaning towards either the Steeda's or the ones from Maximum Motorsports.

My ?'s are.

#1 Which ones did you buy?
#2 Where did you get them, and how much $ did they cost?
#3 Did you have to modify them to get them to fit? If yes How much.

Welding them in isn't a problem for me. I have access to a mig welder(which yes i know how to use it) and I also have access to a Fab shop if I need to modify them.

Any suggestion and tips are greatly appreciated.

Dont think about it, Just order the Maximum Motorsports parts. I paid what there website says and they are probably simple to install if you are proficient with welding

Kenne Brown is in Indy which is not too far for you. You could make a run down there and have their stuff installed in their fabulous shop. They have some good stuff and know their shiot when it comes to install...

I went with the maximum motorsports full length on my 91 lx 5.0 vert and my 04 vert. The 91 required modifications for install but the 04's weld right up. The suspension is supposed to be loaded when welding them on, like on a muffler install lift with the four wheels sitting on the lift, not raised in the air by the frame.

MMs are awesome. As mentioned before the car should be lifted on its wheels to load the chassis normally.

Another vote for Maximum Motorsports - order online at http://www.maximummotorsports.com/. Note that the shipping for these huge& heavy monsters will be about $27.14 - at least, that is what I paid for UPS ground, but it may be cheaper (MM is in CA, and I live in FL...about as far away as you can get).
Kenne Brown subframe connectors are too thin.

Thanks for the replys guys.

I actually called the Maximum Motorsports tech line last night and asked about the install and having to modify them or not for a convertible. The guy I talked to told me they'd weld right in.

A buddy of mine has a lift in his garage that were going to put the car up on to weld them in so the suspension will be in it's normal loaded stance.

I'm going to order them without the powder coating and then I'll coat them with POR-15 after I weld them in.

Is that what you did to yours twogts4us ?

Kenny Browns or MM. clean up the surface, tack in then weld away. Pay attention to the fuel lines. I've always taken the seats loose and lifted the carpet also.

No kidding. All that stuff at the sides looks nice but they arent even full length!

Maximum Motorsports full length subframe connectors are popular, but don't overlook Laurel Mountain's subframe connectors. Their seat bracket come as a single molded piece, while the MM ones still have to be welded together. On top of that, the LM ones come with the torque box supports, and are cheaper.

Look at both and compare.

another vote for MMFL. buy them unfinished..spray with Rustoleum flat black after welding.
