Functional hood latches

Not sure if this could be tech or talk related but does anyone have pictures of functional hood latches/pins for the 05/06 mustang? How do they install on the new Mustangs? Also if you have them do you experience any problems with them?
I just put a hood on my stang its the Shelby hood (fiberglass) and I know its latched but it moves some when I am going down the highway and freaks me out when I am passing a semi trucks or whatever I guess I want more stability on it latching down.

Mine raises up around 80mph and scares the snot out of me. I don't really like the looks of the standard pins with the wire looping under the hood and have been looking for something a little cleaner.

Whew...I am not alone.
Those are clean looking I wonder if they offer them in billet? Do you think they would solve the dreaded HLS(HOOD LIFT SYNDROME)

I am getting my hood installed soon and I had actually purchased some hood pins. When I was talking to the guy that is doing the install he asked me if I really wanted the hood pins, and I said no, not really. He said he knows a way to keep the hood secure without putting in pins so I will have to wait and see what the deal is. I will post if it is anything good.

I have the Cervinis Ram Air Hood being delivered as we speak and if I need hood pins then those aero latches will be my choice becuase they are the least visible. Does anyone know if they can be painted to match the color of the hood?

Luckily I don't have to worry about that they come in black But I am assuming the aero latches once installed are located at the front corners of the hood or are they just off center?

I don't believe that they are installed directly at the tip-top of the hood... they have pictures of them installed on other cars...

I actually like the look of the hood pins, but I have a question. It looks like the wire that runs from the top of the hood and then underneath would chip the paint off of your hood when driving on the highway.

Is there something I'm missing here? Is the wire actually covered by clear plastic so it doesn't chip the paint?

Most of them have a plastic cover over the cable. I have a car (not a stang) that has green plastic covers over the cable.

aerolatch is pricey...$86 + shipping for their cheapest one.

I was looking for traditional hood pins that are black...but not the oval ones like aerolatch. Anyone see any out there that have a black finish. I wanted more of a stealth look.

I'm going to order some tomorrow and see if they will do the trick. I'll let everyone know. If not I guess the stock hood isn't that bad...

Check Fang Performance's website. They have twist hood latches that resemble the early 70's cars. No wires!

Cool man let us know. I got to thinking about it though and installing those means a lot of cutting into the hood. I don't know id thats the route I want to go just yet.
I think I might just go with the clasic looking hood pins. Not as much cutting involved as I can see, but then again I have never really looked at those up close. I will wait to see how yours turns out

Picked up my new hood today. Looks really nice! So now I am on the market for the hood latches to keep me sane as I drive down the road, and I don't have to worry about the hood flying off.
I emailed the AeroCatch people. I havent received a response yet but hopefully soon they will.
But I did find out this information...
They are paintable
They are very resistant to the elements.
The company is located in Britain or something and it is a new product design that just hit N. America. One company in Florida,I think, is an authorized dealer for the AeroCatch. I can't wait to see how they look on Mustangs though...
