Funny thing people ask about Hack Job

As you all know, it is under construction and not done yet. Well, I have roller wheels on it. Roller wheels are junky wheels that you put on to roll it/drive it around the shop.

People say, "Man that is a clean body, and will be a nice car, but those wheels are ugly!"

They are 17" Tri-bars I had the chrome sandblasted off of, and they are in grey primer, and the primer is dirty. Why do people think that these are the wheels I am using on the car???? I find it so funny when people ask that!

That is what I think sometimes, but not always. I have car guys, hot rod guys...etc that ask me this!! I'm like dude...you build cars...do you put a nice set of tires and wheels on while you prime/paint/wrench/weld??

To be honest I never even noticed the wheels on your other threads because I just figure your painting it and building it from the ground up that there would be no reason to have its real wheels on it during the build. I have never built a car to the extent that you have but I have seen it done so many times, hell all the TV sport/car/learning channels have a car building show so everybody gets to see how its done and they are almost always on work wheels.

who is the guy on here with the red 87-93 GT with silver tri-bars?....that car looks great with them on.

I had them on a 95GT I had. It kept the car "the sleeper" that it was, because they aren't flashy, but they are 17X8, so when the Procharger P600B kicked in....those tribars flew right by them!!!!

OK, that is what I thought! I couldn't think of it at the time. They are sweet on his car. Mine used to be chrome, but they were pitted BAAAAD, so my neighbor blasted them at his shop for 25 bucks. I intended to paint them silver, but that was 8 years ago now!

Because most people don't use 17" wheels as roller wheels.

I had 17" Bullitts and 16" mint waffles as my roller wheels, and people thought I was using one of those.

Hell yeah I am! I took a BFH and made those 15" wheels fit over the 13" cobra brakes!

Why use 17" wheels when 15" wheels save you so much weight??
