Do you know if anyone out there makes a functional hood scoop for our cars? I just love the look of a shaker scoop, just like the one on the 1975 Trans Am that my father owns. I want to have one on my car, but I haven't seen any out there. Thanks guys.

I think classic design or something like that makes the new mach 1 conversion for our cars. If I remember correctly it is functional but can only be used with the stock intake :notnice:

Yeah, CDC is making one for our cars, but it's really expensive and only works on the stock intake...It may fit on the Cobra intake too, but I can't remember if it does or not.

Low-5.0, I made one out of the hood that you have. I have the same one, and cut it out with a dremel, and molded it so it looked finished. works, i guess.

I've been thinking about doing something like that with mine...Got any pics?

functional is cool but its not going to give you too much power. i would just get a hood with a scoop like the Cobra R SVO hood and say to hell with the functionality. better money can be spent on performance parts like h/c/i.

someone does makeone cause they did one on hot rod T.V and yes it's functional and you do have to use the stock airstuff. but i cant remember the brand or the price? or maybe you can get one from a crashed mach 1? peace

My car's down at the shop, but unless you plan on not driving in the rain, it's not the best idea. road dust gets in there, and makes a mess of the engine unless you clean it fairly often. The pics I do have of the hood, aren't cut out, so they won't really help.

I did that "Ram Air' scoop instead of a hood scoop.
Its cutout underneath, and basically lets air in right next to the air filter.

Probably nets me about 0 HP, but at least nobody else has one ;)
